Pike & Gilliss, LLC was established in 2010 by Pat Pike & David Gilliss, who previously spent many years practicing in large, established Baltimore-based law firms. Each has received Martindale Hubbell's highest "AV" Preeminent Peer Review Rating, and has been recognized by the annual Maryland Super Lawyers, America's Best Lawyers, and Maryland's "Top 100" Lawyer publications.
In our construction law practice, we represent clients engaged in all aspects of the construction industry, including general contractors, owners, architects, engineers, sub-contractors, vendors, suppliers, and others.
Although our role is often focused on helping our clients avoid disputes and litigation through negotiations or alternative dispute resolution, we regularly represent clients through arbitration and in state, federal and bankruptcy courts.

We have extensive experience representing clients in contract surety matters. Among the areas we provide assistance and representation to our clients are investigating defaulting principals and obligees, assessing performance and payment bond claims, helping clients to determine whether to finance or complete a project, tender a defense, and identifying and asserting appropriate defenses.
Our commercial surety practice frequently involves representing sureties and insurers in matters arising from claims involving probate, construction, fiduciary, license, customs and permit bonds. We often provide legal opinions assessing the existence or extent of coverage under surety bonds and governing statutes and regulations.
Our fidelity law practice includes all manner of financial institution bond and commercial crime coverage matters. We assist our clients in their investigation and assessment of fidelity claims, provide legal opinions, address coverage issues, and, if necessary, defend their interests in litigation.
