North Shore Cafe
Perhaps you start your day with coffee. Or maybe it's with an espresso drink, or a glass of fresh juice. A breakfast of pastry, or a quick egg sandwich, or a plate of pancakes, an omelette, or simply bacon and eggs. Or is it lunch that starts your day? Most of what we serve is organic and grown within 80 miles of White Salmon.

Our coffee and teas are organic and fair trade. Our salmon is caught by the Yakama Nation people out of the Klickitat River, sprouts from NoBo, apples from Indian Creek Ranch, breads from Blue Skies Bakery and White Salmon's own Mayor Dave, coffee from 10-Speed Roasters, teas from Good Medicine Enterprises, kombucha from One Breath Beverage, and seasonal vegetables from other local farms and purveyors.

We grabbed the biscuits and gravy to go because we were in a hurry and they were closing soon. I know it doesnā€™t look like much in the box, but trust me it was delicious! I would definitely go back and add an egg to this meal as well (personal preference) Definitely a tasty meal and very filling.

Their "Little White Salmon" was delicious and my hazelnut latte was delightful, I'll definitely have to come back for more next time I'm in the area.

All I can say is the food is worth the drive, hours even. We enjoyed several food items on the menu, lattes, fresh juice, and desserts - they all exceeded any expectations. The staff, including the owner, were extremely kind and helpful. Not only did they deliver some of the best quality food Iā€™ve had in a while, they took time to chat about some local shops which we visited. If youā€™re looking for anything to eat or drink you must visit North Shore Cafe. I will definitely come back next time I'm in town.

I have visited this cafe many times and have always loved everything about it until now. We stopped in over the weekend (a group of 4 of us) and was very disappointed with the food. The amount of food was so small we had to find food a short time later. I got a "Vegan Bowl" and it really was just a small kale salad (which was not mentioned on the menu). All the orders on the table were small but sadly they all were super spicy hot. The vegetable biscuits and gravy was so hot the gentlemen with us could not eat it. My Vegan Bowl dressing burnt my lips and mouth with every bite and I could

We found this place on a cross country road trip in the sleepy town of White Salmon. Something I really appreciate is there taking serious of covid protocol. There is currently only outdoor seating on the sidewalk and you order at a walk up window/open garage door. The food was delicious and made with organic and well sourced ingredients. The espresso beverages are made in what they referred to as the European style. For example, it was a traditional macchiato that I ordered and it came in an espresso glass and it was wonderfully made. So definitely don't expect to get a 16oz caramel macchiato

This is what they call a ā€œvegan tofu scrambleā€ for $12.50ā€¦ No flavor at all, and they didnā€™t even mash up the tofu or add any seasoning to it. Staff wasnā€™t friendly either about making the avo toast vegan because they add butter to it. Definitely not coming back again.

Indoor seating was closed but there was plenty of comfortable outdoor seating. Our order was competently taken at the store front counter for a Bacon burrito, blueberry scone, drip coffee and fresh juice. The burrito comes with a side of perfect chipotle sauce and sour cream. Absolutely loved it! One of my fav breakfast burritos ever. The juice, scone and small coffee deliciously completed our late morning breakfast. Kudos to the staff for adapting so well and providing a great meal in spite of this crazy covid world!

This is such a cute little place! We only came for coffee, but they had some snacks and pastries available as well. There's some outdoor seating (they aren't doing indoor seating during the pandemic) where you can watch the goings-on of White Salmon and enjoy your coffee. I ordered a sugar-free vanilla almond milk latte (#basic) and it was one of the best I've had. Sugar-free doesn't always taste as good, but this was delightful.

A great local spot! Very nourishing food and wonderful service. The juices are some of my favorite, especially the beet ginger. The bowls are a really good size, almost shareable, and the sourdough is delicious. Highly recommend!

I like this place. Good vegan food, great coffee. They charge extra for alternative milks which is annoying. Ends up being pretty expensive.

Why has nobody told me how much White Salmon has grown up while I was gone? Its gone from sleepy, to fun and funky and this charming little cafe is an example of the positive changes.
Want vegetarian? No problem. Need meat? They have that too. Vegan? No issue!
My favorite was the tofu saute with mushrooms, spinach, and sun dried tomatoes. The biscuits with jam were crumbly and good too.

Good food and coffee and emphatically upbeat service. The male cashier couldn't stop singing as his unbridled soul was full of either joy or, more likely, caffeine. Great outdoor seating as well.

It's a nice place, hip, clean and friendly. The parking can be nuisance because it's all street parking. The ambiance is relaxing and they have decent space inside. This place has a pretty big selection of healthy food and drinks. Their daily juice is really good and served in a mason jar with lid. They have breakfast, salad bowls, wraps and coffee. Everything looks fresh, but I'm not a big fan of their chicken wraps because it's very bland. I will try their coffee next time.

Cute place with a very casual feel. While visiting Hood River, I made the drive to come up here every morning for breakfast because it was the only place with vegan options. Although beware, it is very limited. As a vegan myself, I was fine with eating the same thing every morning, but I think this place would benefit a lot from expanding their menu to incorporate more diverse options for those with food restrictions and allergies.

This is a "DON'T MISS IT" place. The owner Amber is the friendliest person you could ever meet. She has made her place warm and inviting. The perfect place to enjoy a full breakfast or lunch or just an amazing latte. We are from Bend OR where there are dozen's of great places to eat. Northshore Cafe compares with the best that Bend has to offer. My wife's Gorge Greek omelet was AMAZING! I had the Ranchers Breakfast and the biscuit with jam was perfection. This will be my go to stop when we are in the area.

Cute place that I really wanted to like. $11 for the mushroom hunter omelette. Meager contents - I hunted!-and never found the featured jalapeƱos. Five thin slices of avocado for another $2.50, no sides (they don't do potatoes). With coffee and tip, out over $20 for an underwhelming experience.
Should have continued on to Carmen's in Bingen.

Thanks for the follow up and refund, Amber. I travel all over the country for work and it's not me- "if I'd just asked;" and the onus should not be placed on the customer, which is bad form. It's simply the product

Really wanted to like this place but for me, just OK I think for vegans probably a good place. I had the ranchers breakfast $7.25 and Avo toast $5.25. I have eaten Avo toast since I was a kid and make it at home all the time. I hate to say it but this was a huge disappointment for $5.25. Really nothing special or much bang for buck. Smaller size than pictured by other reviewers. The biscuit was also somewhat disappointing. Dry and doughy.

I am going to give this place another try. The people who work here are really nice and White Salmon is a crazy cute town.
