Dan's Food Market
Dan's Food Market in downtown Leavenworth, Washington is your hometown grocery store. We strive to provide you with the freshest produce, the best prices, and the friendliest local customer service. In the good old days you could stroll on in to your local grocer and be greeted by your first name, chat with your checker about the family, and be the first to know when something was just right, or a special price.

Used to be, service was not just "would you like help out?", it was grabbing your bags and opening the door for you without a question asked. Well here at Dan's, the good old days are far from over. We're a family food store and we're proud to know our customers by their first names. It is our policy to help without being asked.
Services
We buy produce from right here in Leavenworth when available, as well as from the biggest produce suppliers on the west coast. Although space is limited, because of our quality and low competitive pricing we're able to move a large amount of produce through this small space. Even though we're small, this volume allows us to purchase at the same rate as the large stores, then we pass on the savings to our customers.
Dan's meat department is proud to serve you the best meats at affordable prices. While some stores give you the best deals by giving you a cheaper cut of meat, we pride ourselves in meeting or beating the competition's prices without compromizing excellent flavor and good health. If you'd like a meat or a cut you don't see on our shelves, just ask our meat department staff, they would be glad to make a special order for you.

This is a cool little food Mart with all of your basic grocery needs. They even have a cool little honey bar. If you need to get groceries and want to shop local this is a perfect choice.

I like it here, it's an interesting little place. They have a pretty good deli and bakery in the back. Their fried chicken, jojo's and sidewinder potatoes are good.

Get the fried chicken here, best I've had in Washington. Good beer and liquor selection for the size of the market. Nice organic and local produce section. It will have most of the things you need.

I really like that this is a mom & pop
Style business that has everything that you would find at the larger chain grocery stores.
They have a pretty extensive alcohol selection here, not to mention fresh baked goods and deli style sandwiches and salads.
I would much rather support this business then the other store up the hill.

Warning: Not COVID-Safe!

I stopped in here to buy some supplies before a camping trip. Although a statewide mask mandate is in effect, multiple customers were walking around un-masked, in defiance of the store policy, which was posted on the front door. When I asked the cashier whether they enforce the store's mask policy, she replied that "We don't harass our customers, or kick anybody out for being un-masked. Our boss wouldn't like that one bit." When I mentioned that this lack of enforcement makes other customers uncomfortable, she demanded to know whether I was a local

Tesla superchargers are on their property and they don't enforce the trucks/trailers that park/block these spots. The market store reaps the benefits of Tesla owners as customers/tourists, but won't spend the effort to enforce this regularly occurring problem.

There are two big grocery plays in town, and since we were staying near the Icicle Road end of Leavenworth, Dan's was our go-to for items we had either forgotten, or found ourselves needing, or wanted to grab for some reason during our multi-day stay here.

It's bigger than you think in there, though definitely not as big as the big chain at the other end. But it still has all the things you need--deli, bakery, produce, you get the picture.

We needed a few things on our trip--ibuprofen, limes, water--the essentials. So we came here and I wanted to give an extra shoutout to the dude

FantastIc store, this rivals any upscale market in Seattle. Might be a little more expensive than Safeway up the street but lots of local offerings, bakery and deli attached.

I was really surprised upon entering Dan's to see how many products they have! We perused the aisles for a long time finding some real treasures. Check out the picture of the largest mango I've ever seen! I also purchased some sourdough bread and olive bread which are amazingly delicious. I was very pleased to see some fair trade chocolate which I also purchased. Their produce looked so fresh! The only reason I didn't give five stars is because one of the cashiers consistently wore her mask under her nose. She also didn't seem very welcoming in her demeanor. It seemed customers

Conveniently located grocery store located in the heart of Leavenworth. The store is surprisingly spacious with a wide selection that you'd expect in any National supermarket. The staff was friendly and helpful too. The interior is barebones and a little dirty, but the aforementioned pros outweigh this. Also, there are ~16 Tesla charging stations in the parking lot. I would recommend anyone in the Leavenworth area to stop here.

As a family that comes to Leavenworth 3-4 times a year, we know the town pretty well at this point. Maybe as not as well as a local, but pretty darn close. :)

A couple years ago we were talking to a local about how over we were of the town's Safeway because it gets SO BUSY during tourist season (aka real bad in the winter) and they suggested that we go to Dan's instead. So we did!

Ditch Safeway, SUPPORT DAN'S. Sure, it's much smaller, but they've got a HUGE selection for all grocery needs and then some! Prices are comparable to other grocery stores.

Really cool little food market! We walked all the way to the back and got some coffee and pastries. Highly recommend the trail cookie! We hiked icicle ridge afterwards and had the trial cookie when we reached the top. It was delicious!!

Stopped by here for some groceries while we were staying at a cabin in the area. The prices weren't bad, and the guy at the checkout was friendly and nice. He actually carried out my groceries to the car without being asked - you don't typically get service like that these days!

This market is located at the end of town and has its own parking lot. At the back of the store near the bakery department, there is a deli counter that creates made to order sandwiches to go. The sandwiches are huge and only $4.99 which includes a small bag of chips and a cookie.

Dan's Food Market was a last minute, last resort for us during the late night when we had the munchies. There's not much healthy snacks, but there were tons of wine and beer. We didn't have a kitchen so we couldn't buy any of the frozen meats or vegetables.

The prices aren't the best in the area so if you can, drive a little further to Safeway instead. Still not a bad grocery store overall though.
