Opened in 1982, Outspokin' Bicycles was one of the first "pro" shops in the Southeast, offering Italian framesets and components, expert fitting and excellent service. Outspokin' also sponsored many race teams through the years, including former LA Sheriff's pro riders Thomas Craven and Jim Copland.
The Outspokin' jersey, worn by Charlotte hard man Gordon Steil, has also seen the top of the podium at the 1996 Masters Cycling National Championship. As one of the first Specialized and Trek dealers in the area, they were also the first to sell "real" mountain bikes like the Stumpjumper. Owner Brian Curran began his cycling career in 1989 at Outspokin', working in sales for founder Chris Hardwicke.

I really appreciate both the service and sales staff. Friendly, helpful, resourceful, and don’t try to oversell. I have high trust for all I have worked with and I particularly appreciate that Logan taught me how to keep a closer watch on my chain wear to keep my cassette lasting longer. I unfortunately didn’t catch her name, but the saleswoman who sold me my Marlin 7 has been fantastic to work with too. I hope to upgrade my bike soon with OSB.

Far beyond expectations! I went there twice. Once to have a chain reset and again to have my tries reinflate. They oiled the chain while I was there as well. Both services were provided for free which is really impressive. Most places would charge top dollar for something even as simple as that. I'm definitely impressed by the service and commitment. If you're ever in the area definitely give them a visit if you are ever thinking of getting a bike or find yourself in need of a tune up.

The took my bike for a flat tire within 10 min of me loading my bike the tire was flat again. I had a service person who was no help he told me I didn't needed a new tire and proceed to change my flat he didn't examine my bike I would not recommend anyone going to him. The second serviceman that I had after my tired was flat when 10min leaving he took the time to really see what was the problem with my bike...THANK YOU FOR YIUR EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I WILL DEFINITELY GIVE HIM 5 STARS!

Terrible customer service in the service department. Paid a large amount of money for a bike to be fixed. I returned a week later because I had not heard from them. They then told me they can’t get the parts. I asked why no one called and they gave no answer. I could barely get anyone there to even talk to me. Will drive to Charleston in the future to purchase and repair our bikes. Worth the drive for good customer service. I have bought bikes from them for years and have never been treated so disrespectfully as the last two times I have been. I also brought two other bikes for them to fix the

I have been to this shop exactly twice. Both times in a jam while on vacation. First time they held a shock pump for me without me asking, so when I got there it would still be there. Second time my wife's front wheel was loose. I thought it was the bearings in this old wheel and was prepared to buy whatever they had to make the bike functional while on vacation. Instead the guy at the repair counter checked it out. Tightened some nuts I didn't know were there and fixed the problem. Took just a few minutes and then he charged me nothing. Wish I'd taken note of his name so I wasn

We worked with Brian of Outspokin’ on a photoshoot for a wedding publication having been drawn to the cruiser style Townies in his shop, and we could not have loved working with him more! Brian worked tirelessly to find us the perfect fit and went above and beyond to deliver and pick up the bicycles in person on the day of the shoot. You don’t come across this kind of personal, friendly service often, and we would be thrilled to work with him again. We’d most definitely recommend his shop itself too, as these Nantucket style bicycles seemed almost too good to be true!
