They are the same. Whether you tan inside for 20 minutes, or 20 minutes outside under a sun of the same intensity, you will get the same color. But remember, factors like the intensity of the sun is something you cannot control - such as. Indoor tanning also adds an extra degree of safety by controlling the amount of time you're allowed in a bed or booth.
There are two main ways to tan indoors: Regular tanning beds that use bulbs to emulate the sun's natural UV A and UV B rays and spray on tans. The picture to the right is a lay down tanning bed. As you can see, the bed is on and the bulbs are glowing. This is the most popular form of indoor tanning by far.
Prior to spray tanning, it is preferable to shower, exfoliate & hydrate your skin (avoid using oily lotions); and, if possible, do any waxing, shaving, pedicures or manicures beforehand. Try to wear comfortable clothing as it's necessary to wait 4 to 8+ hours to shower after your spray tan - this allows the self-tanning ingredient "DHA" to react with your skin - in order to achieve that 'tanned' look you are seeking.
Folsom Tanning now offers airbrush tanning. We have state-of-the-art airbrush tanning equipment specifically designed for tanning and we use the highest quality solutions. Since there is a spray tan process by a person, you are assured an even tan and can choose a lighter or darker tan as well as some shading and tinting.

Yikes. Not recommended for beginners. I went here as a first-time tanner, assuming I would get some guidance from the staff. But the girl working there treated me like I was stupid for asking questions, and now I'm sunburned all over my body. I have to wear a skirt or sweatpants because wearing jeans is too painful. Avoid this place unless you know exactly what you're doing.

Husband and I are getting ready for a trip to Mexico and need to build a quick base tan. We stopped by another local salon and they were fairly busy but I was never greeted or given any information so we tried Sun Club the next day. We were promptly greeted and the attendant was very helpful and sweet! We were able to buy just the right amount of tans to be prepared for our trip!

So I paid a week of unlimited tanning. And they closed 3 out of the 7 days. Like really? Saturday. Tuesday 4th of July I get. And Wednesday. I emailed them on Saturday and didn't get a response back. I come covered in tanning lotion. Which is 40 a bottle. Just wasted. The only reason why I gave them 3 stars is because the salon is clean and the staffs were nice.

Just started going here and the front desk attendant is always sweet and knowledgeable and I love the facilities. Best tanning salon I've ever gone to in Folsom and I've been to them all! Clean rooms and beds- not the mention the best price I've ever paid for a monthly tanning membership- at $25 a month you can't beat it! Overall been a great experience (don't forget $1 upgrades on Sunday's!!)

Great place! It's really clean and the staff is awesome. I have gone to California sun centers and amazing tans and folsom sun center is the best by far. You get all the same stuff if not better and the prices you can't beat. I have referred a few friends who have gone else where and they agree. They keep there beds clean and there bulbs fresh. I wouldn't recommend any other place!

Nice surprise. Clean, fresh and tidy interior. Good prices on tanning , friendly staff. Clerk did NOT push tanning accelerator and unlimited tanning on me as a clerk did at the salon down the street, even after I explained that due to my heritage I tan quickly and a few sessions were all I needed for trip to Hawaii..No pushy sales people here at Folsom Sun Club
