VARICOSE VEIN treatments include Endovenous laser ablation (EVLA). Laser energy is used to target and seal problem veins, reducing and eliminating pain from varicosities. In some instances, a mini-phlebectomy is also needed. In other cases we inject a foam (Varithena) which causes the defective vein to close.

The consequences of leaving varicose veins untreated can be serious. Leg or ankle soars or ulcers may occur, along with the vein actually bleeding. Dr. Sharma is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Surgery. He is additionally certified in phlebology. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, MD and attended the University of Maryland Graduate School, Baltimore, MD, before receiving his medical degree. Dr. Sharma received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia School of Medicine, Norfolk, VA.
