What is an estate plan? Your estate is the sum total of everything you own, including cars, real estate, accounts, life insurance, retirement funds, investments, artwork, and other personal belongings. An estate plan is a list of detailed instructions that spells out the who, when, and how of distributing your assets.
A will (referred to formally as a last will and testament) is a document that provides for the distribution of your assets upon your death. Everything you worked so hard to accumulate throughout your life, including real estate, cars, life insurance and personal belongings, will need to go somewhere after you're gone.
Trusts work in conjunction with a will so your assets end up exactly where you want them to go. You might create a trust to minimize taxes, protect assets and spare your children from having to go through the lengthy process of probate court. Trusts can make sure that in the event of a sudden and untimely death, your last wishes can be carried out.
A useful component to your Will, the Personal Property Disposition List spells out specific gifts to friends and family. It's a document separate from your Will but referenced in it, that designates gifts of property to intended beneficiaries Do you and your daughter have a mutual love of running? Does your nephew love antiques?

Matt made the whole process of writing and customizing our will easy and quick. He was super patient with our questions and helped arrange the signing with witnesses when we weren’t able to schedule our own. He didn’t try to upsell us on a more expensive package and said himself he didn’t think we needed it. Highly recommended.

We recently performed an Estates planning exercise with Matthew. We have been wanting to do this for a while but eventually found some time for this very important activity and upon searching the internet we found Matthew and Asurest. We are non citizens and one of the big worries in our mind at the time was who would care for our daughter if both was were to decease all of a sudden. We had considered online software but have heard horror stories(incomplete,not setup correctly, null and void) and decided using an expert to protect our assets is well worth the peace of mind of knowing it is done correctly. After our father passed away, My sister and I were kinda lost amongst all the paper work and requirements as executors. We called Matt, and he took that burden off of our shoulders for us. Minus getting paper work to Matt and some signatures it was almost completely hands off. Matt is super nice, super knowledgeable and very responsive with all emails, phone calls and correspondence.
