I opened Health Connections Direct Primary Care in 2017 so that patients could have the time they want, to get the care they need without the constraints of a typical insurance based practice. I have dealt with obesity, blood pressure, diabetes and anxiety on a personal level - and have seen how having these health issues leads some physicians make assumptions about me, my interests and abilities.

While I am not in recovery myself, I have practiced addiction medicine in a different practice since 2015 and have many patients who have either dealt with addiction themselves, or who have family members who have dealt with this.

Services
When you are sick, waiting days or a week isn't really an option. Locally owned Health Connections Direct Primary Care can usually get you or your loved one in the same or next business day for sick visits. We also offer telemedicine visits where you may be able to get treated over the phone at no additional charge.
When you are dealing with a chronic health issue, it's important to work with a physician who you can be open with about what challenges you are facing and how you want to address your care. I can make recommendations and suggestions, but really the progress usually comes from what you do in between our visits.
Annual wellness exams help us touch base on what you can do to reduce your risk of developing chronic illnesses, and what you can do to get healthier. A wellness exam can help you focus on what you need to do to take your health to the next level. Lab work is usually done through LabCorp. You can either go through your insurance company to work with them or go through our low negotiated lab prices.
As a family practice doctor who also practices addiction medicine and is a life coach, I have a lot of experience working with people on their mental health. I actively encourage my patients to see a counselor or coach in addition to working with me. I have worked with counselors and coaches at different times in my life and have found it very helpful.
I believe that price transparency is important. Many people avoid getting their blood work done because they don't know how much the fees will be. I remember one woman with diabetes who hadn't had her bloodwork done in over a year because her last bloodwork had cost almost $600 and she was still trying to pay the bill.

Dr. Villacis is very friendly and caring about her patients and I LOVE that I can actually see my doctor at the time of my appointment instead of being called back and sitting in a room waiting another 10 minutes or so. She takes the time to truly get to know me as a person and doesn't just try "to shove pills down my throat." She explains a prognosis well and covers multiple treatment options if they are available. You can't go wrong using Health Connections Direct Primary Care!

I was a 24 year old that had went without insurance/consistent medical treatment for about 3 years before I met Dr. Villacis. I had some serious issues that were starting to pile up on me. I was in need of immediate help and I wasn’t sure where to turn. I’m so blessed that I found her and for the services that she offers. After years of dealing with 15 minute visits and being booted out the door without being heard by a doctors at large practices, I was overjoyed to have found Dr. Villacis. My first visit was over an hour where she dug deep into family history, my current health, and where I wanted to be in the future. I always feel heard, respected, and well taken care of whether I come in for a wellness check or for something more pressing. I have been under Dr. Villacis’ care for almost 2 years. Her level of care, her compassion, and her medical knowledge is unsurpassed. She is easy to talk to, and she spends the time necessary to help me with whatever medical issues I may have. I’m 54 years old, and can guarantee that I spoken to her more in the short time I’ve been under her care than all of the other doctors I’ve seen in my life...combined! She never rushes me and I don’t feel like I’m on an assembly line when I’m in her office. I know that I am not an “easy” patient, but Doc works with my sometimes bad attitude
