Hi, my name is John Stobbs. I've been a criminal defense attorney for about 25 years. Partly because I'm fluent in Spanish I have handled over 1000 federal criminal defense cases in St. Louis, MO and East Saint Louis, IL. I've also handled a couple hundred cases in Madison County, IL. I have been successful in fighting the government in trial and in the video above you can see some of the acquittals I have won in federal criminal jury trials.

The word "significant" has a different meaning to different people. It would be easy for me to list ten cases where my client was acquitted or the charges dismissed and claim that case was "significant" because of the result. In actuality, some of the most "significant" cases I handled were significant because of how the outcome impacted me personally or how the outcome made a difference to my client.
With the advent of mandatory minimum sentences and the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines in the 1980's, very little could be done to help a loved one charged with a federal drug crime. That changed when the United States Supreme Court in Gall and Booker made the Guidelines advisory as opposed to mandatory.
My white collar experience runs the gamut of federal white collar prosecutions from telemarketing fraud, to medicare fraud to tax fraud to mail and wire fraud. Often after I receive a positive result in a white collar case, clients will confide in me that they had previously spoken to another attorney, who painted a dire picture of their situation, prior to seeking my expertise.
When I first started practicing, tax cases were rare. Since I've been an attorney I've seen how run of the mill white collar crimes take on a tax element. In my opinion, the reason for this is so that the Government can pressure my clients to plead "guilty" because of the fear people have of the IRS.
The most difficult aspect of representing someone charged with a gun crime is that generally speaking federal laws provide stiff penalties for individuals found guilty of federal firearms violations. I started representing felons in possession of a firearm which is the most common gun crime charged.

When you catch a state or federal charge you want a lawyer who has your back and will fight for you. John stobbs is the exact opposite. He will act like he will go to war for you at first. As soon as you write a check to him he will do a complete 360. He promised to get my son no more than 10 years. He ended up getting 15 years in prison. This guy should be disbarred.

I was indicted on federal drug charges (somewhat out of the blue) two years after being arrested in a semi-related state case. My life had changed very much in those two years. I was a different person and now care full time for my disabled toddler. I was terrified that I was going to prison and my son would be left alone. Mr. Stobbs was a godsend. Even though I wasn't sure what was going to happen. He didn't make any huge promises but did let me know what the best and worst case scenario would be. He definitely put my mind at ease right away. Federal representation isn't cheap

I was charged with a serious crime. I was looking at 8 years in prison before calling John. Considering I live in Louisiana, my gut told me to try a Louisiana lawyer. I did some research and found it is better to use a lawyer who practices in the court or district you are being charged in. John did much better than anyone in Louisiana (I got probation).
