If you are experiencing painful swelling in the back of your foot just above the heel, you may be suffering from Achilles Tendonitis. This troublesome condition affects the Achilles tendon, which is the strongest and largest tendon in the body and connects the leg to the foot as it stretches from the lower leg to the heel bone.
Most often found on the inner foot near the big toe but sometimes located on the fifth toe, bunions are a painful yet common condition caused by inflammation of the bursa. Bursa resides in the connective tissues of the bodies and is essentially a small fluid filled sac. The inflammation and thickening of these sacs creates a problematic bone formation that forces the toe out of alignment and causes great discomfort.
It is rare to find someone who walks with both feet in perfect alignment. Often we walk on the inside or outsides of our feet, or with our toes or heels rotated inward. These typical walking patterns can cause many problems not just with the feet but also for the whole body as the alignment of the feet sets the foundation for the whole body's alignment.

Dr. Fernandez is professional, yet very personable. He takes care of my problem and does not try to add on other tests and procedures or sell products..

I've had painful metatarslagia for years. I had been to 2 doctors prior to an appointment at Carolina Foot Center. Upon arriving my pain was a 9. Then arrived at my second appointment the pain was a 6. I have another appointment for custom insoles. I am sure my level of pain will decrease! Do not hesitate to go to see this doctor!!!!

I am very happy with my experience at Carolina Foot Centers. I had an ingrown toe nail for few months and kept holding off to get it treated because I am a big baby when it comes to doctor visits. Dr. Fernandez was great! He was very patient and kind. He explained every his step and what he did to prevent it from happening again. Now I know not to wait for so long to see a doctor and I know exactly where to go.

I had a very bad experience with Dr. Smiley. She over-exaggerated my simple, almost healed tendonitis. I went to see her for an annoying light pain in my ankle, that was coming and going. Dr. Smiley sold me a Boot for $200 and declined any anti-inflammatory medicine. According to Dr. Smiley, I was suppose to wear the Boot for 4 to 6 weeks, and then have a Physical therapy. I wore her Boot for 1.5 days. I began experiencing constant sharp pain in my ankle. The Boot was also defective, one of the Velcro straps broke off, so it became unusable. I called Dr. Smiley’s office, they wanted me to come

I wish I had seen Dr. Ismaili years ago. A simple arch support has made walking more comfortable for me. The Dr. and her staff were very thorough, polite and helpful and I would recommend them to anyone seeking treatment for foot problems.
I subsequently returned for the surgical removal of an ingrown toenail and as of now, the evening of the procedure, I have experienced absolutely no pain or discomfort. Dr. Ismaili is very professional and inspires confidence.

Dr Ismaili treated my heel pain so well. I went to 2 other doctors before she was finally able to get me better. Only took one shot.
