Stephen Van Stee established SolarCrate LLC in 2013 to address the needs of those customers requiring off-grid solar. He holds a BA in fine arts from St. Andrews Presbyterian College and an Associates in Electronic Systems Technology from the Community College of the Air Force. Stephen is a partner in Shenandoah Energy Services that specializes in whole house, grid-tied solar systems.
He was elected to the Edinburg Town Council in 2016 and serves as a volunteer in the Edinburg Volunteer Fire Company. He is married to the Reverend Karen S. Van Stee and they have two adult daughters and two grandsons. Bryan J. Hepner provides much of the hard work and sweat assembling SolarCrate products.

I have worked side by side with Solar Steve for the past 5 or so years. I am excited to say that I am finally taking my tiny house building business off-grid thanks to Steve. Build Tiny is about to be powered by a GenaCrate from SolarCrate. As a general contractor I know all the solar guys around, and I never considered anyone other than Solar Steve.
