For about 20 years, we've known that many phytonutrients work as antioxidants to disarm free radicals before they can damage DNA, cell membranes and fat-containing molecules such as cholesterol. Now, new research is revealing that phytonutrients in crucifers, such as cabbage, work at a much deeper level.

I really need to update my last review. We stopped out for some kibbeh, tabouli, grape leaves, meat pies, spinach pies, hummus, pita bread and baklava.
This was the best idea we had this week. From being pleasantly greeted by an employee to assisting us with our food choices the smells of delicious food filled the air.
The kibbeh (football style) was the tastiest I have had in quite some time. Made perfectly and the flavor made me wish I had ordered many more.
The tabouli was fresh and crisp and the seasonings were exceptional. Everything we decided to bring home was well prepared and baked

Everything is delicious here. The Tabouli is, hands down, the best I've ever tasted. (Not so lemony you wince.) The meat pie are delicious. Wonderful baklava, many varieties, all made by Tiger Bakery, not a commercial place in Detroit. What I like best about shopping here is the interaction w the people behind the counter, a rare experience these days. They really take pride in the stuff--they make it!

Like always I start at the far end of the display cases and work my way to the cash register. Picking my way down and choosing an assortment of delicious items. One of our favorite places because we have never been disappointed with the quality of the different food items. Four stars I guess is my fault because I always spend to much.

I LOVE Middle Eastern food. There are always options for vegans and it's not terribly unhealthy. Stopped by today for hummus and pita bread but of course I got a bunch of other things because I couldn't resist. I got delicious yellow lentil soup and veggie grape leaves, plus I ate some hummus and pita bread there too. Toledo has a ton of great Middle Eastern restaurants, and the hummus here at Tiger Bakery is some of the best in the area. Whether you are looking for ingredients to make your own Middle Eastern dish, some food to take home, or lunch, Tiger Bakery is a great stop.

I've been coming here for years and, while I think it's a bit overpriced, their healthy offerings had always been tasty and appealing. Unfortunately, I recently bought some hummus and it was definitely past its prime. My family (who usually loves their hummus) thought it tasted "different" - it was spoiled and I ended up throwing it out. A few years ago I would have ranked Tiger 5-stars, but at this point their inconsistency earns them only 3.

My favorite baklava spot in Toledo! They offer tons of options from meat pies, rices, sweets, gyros, hummus & so much more! The staff is always super friendly. It's very clean. I am not vegan but they offer tons of vegan & vegetarian options for those that are. They have great meal combos at a good price & the pita bread they sell is some of the best in town! If you haven't tried this local business yet you should!

If you're looking for a change of pace this is the place you want to be. First of all the lady behind the counter is simply awesome. The variety of food is expertly displayed and samples are for the asking. The quality and preparation of their food items are expertly done. We usually buy enough to have leftovers the next day.

Growing up in Toledo I've always loved Tiger!!! First off, the service there is great. Whenever we go, we get treated like family. The lady who usually helps us always has new dishes for us to sample and loves to strike up conversation.
Then there's the food. Everything I've ever gotten from here has left me feeling full and healthy. My favorite is the majedra. It's like a lentil, onion rice. You can always tell their food is fresh because whenever we go, we can always see women back in the kitchen chopping parsley or cooking meat!
This place is definitely a Toledo staple

I always adore this place!
It's a deli/bakery with some grocery items. I think the owners are Lebanese but there are posters of Syria - so possibly that.
The hummus is some of the best I've had. Very affordable - a small container is $3!! Then there are spinach pies, gyro meat, kabobs, kibbe, falafel, etc.

Nope. Nope. And nope. Stopped by here to try out their sandwiches. Over priced and just not good. First of all it's not shawarma. Doesn't even come close to shawarma. Microwaving stale meat, throwing it on cold bread with some concoction of a dressing (that clearly had at least one spoiled cucumber). Had to spit out bitter cucumbers then got turned off and threw out my $3.49 sandwich.
The store barely had an groceries. The food was not fresh and it did not even look remotely appetizing. It's a shame because the older ladies there seemed nice, even though they clearly saw us come

I'm going to write the same review for both locations as I feel their food is on the same level: outstanding.
I lived in the Southeastern Michigan area for four years so I know good Middle Eastern food. When my favorite place in Michigan closed down a year or so ago, I was totally bummed, thought I would never find hummus-like-crack again. Boy, was I wrong! And beyond that, it wasn't even in Michigan! Both Tiger Lebanese Bakeries (the one in Sylvania and the other on Monroe in Toledo) have outstanding hummus, tabouli, fattoush, spinach pies, and grape leaves. Plus they're mini
