During the bike boom of the early 1970's, Kevin Babcock was hired by Harry R. Beach, owner of Beach's Bike Shop, Endicott. At that time, single-speed fat tire and three-speed bikes were quickly being overtaken by the European ten-speed with racing handlebars. It was Babcock's job to assemble, repair, and later sell these bikes for Mr. Beach.
We are pleased to announce that Babcock Bicycles has once again been appointed as a top level dealer for both TREK and ELECTRA bicycle brands. In addition, UNIVEGA-USA has approved Babcock Bicycles as a stocking dealer of its family of brands, many of which are assembled in South Carolina, USA. Listed below are some of the bicycle models that we have found to be popular for our area.
Since women are built differently than men, Babcock's has devoted an entire section of the store as a Women's Department. We have racks of Women's Specific Design bikes, shoes, clothing, helmets, saddles. Babcock's offers a trained, knowledgeable staff ready and willing to serve you so stop in to see what we have to offer!.
We have been working on bikes and offering a wide variety of services to keep cyclists riding for nearly 50 years. From fixing a flat tire to component overhauling or replacement we do all repairs on any bike brands except welding and painting. We can also assemble bikes purchased on-line, and we offer shipping services, too.
The Southern Tier of New York and the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania offers thousands of miles of terrific road riding. The terrain is varied, as the valleys offer flat riding while the back roads that connect the valleys offer rolling ground with some challenging hills. The valleys are more heavily trafficked, generally with wide shoulders, while the back roads experience little traffic with a secondary road surface.

During this time of ongoing bike shortages, I had been struggling to find the perfect multipurpose road bike, something that would function equally well as a gravel bike. I finally found exactly what I was looking for at Babcock's. As a very exacting customer with specialized needs and concerns, I had an endless amount of questions about the Trek Domane SL5, and John was incredibly patient, thorough and thoughtful. He answered all of my questions and even tested my theory that there was enough clearance for 40mm gravel tires (yes, they fit). I walked out the door with a dream bike and the assurance

Helpful staff. Nice selection.
But I was pretty disappointed when I went there during early stages of new, Covid19 pandemic (long before vaccines were available) and the guy walking around store helping customers couldn't be bothered to wear a mask. I could maybe understand people working in the back room not wearing a mask but this guy was closely interacting with customers. Not cool.
4 or 5 of us customers in there at the time. 100% of us had masks on because it was the decent thing to do.

I had a minor issue come with my son's bike the day after we purchased it. My son put weight on the bike and stand gave. I did not know that is what happened until later when my son admitted. The manner in which the stand came apart, almost looked like the metal part had a defect in it. Kevin @ Babcocks replaced the stand, on the spot, no questions asked. He also let us know that these failures are often tied to weight beyond the bike, being put on the stand. I appreciate him not only teaching us how to prevent the issue, but also taking care of us.

My bike needed to be customized due major neck surgery. Kevin Babcock promptly greeted me upon entering his shop and patiently discussed many options he had in stock. He installed an extension on the stem, adjusted my seat, and offered to help me load my bike back in my car. So glad I chose to drive an hour to support local business!

Friendly, helpful service. The staff made me and more importantly my daughter feel comfortable in the store. They even gave her tips and took the pedals off her new bike to help her learn to balance. Later that day at home, she rode without training wheels for the first time!!Babcock bikes was great from start to finish.

They were honest and fair. I would gladly take my bike repairs to them and also any bike I may want to sell again in the future. I asked them to fix up an old family bike for our daughter and they took it apart and assessed it and showed me how it was in too bad of shape to be safe for a kid. So I am thankful for their time, honesty and expertise.
