To become a patient at Oak Hill Psychiatry and to see Dr. Wernsing, the cost had been $45 per month.* Due to the success of this clinic, Dr. Wernsing closed to new patients in late August of 2015 (see "Home" for details). When and if he opens to new patients again, Dr. Wernsing expects that the fee will be increased from $45 per month to a $100 initial visit fee with $45 per month thereafter.
Dr. Wernsing earned his Doctor of Medicine degree in 2000 from the University of Minnesota. Then, he attended internship and residency for four years at Hennepin County Medical Center and Regions Hospital in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. After becoming a general psychiatrist in 2004, he further specialized in the field of forensic psychiatry by completing a fellowship based in Madison and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Yes, I believe in the beneficial effects of work. Also, I believe that vast amounts of unstructured time and lack of purpose (work, education) can be harmful. Hence, I choose not to complete disability paperwork such as SSDI paperwork, county assistance forms, and the like. Also, as a practical matter, the time commitment for such forms is outside the ability of me and this clinic.
