The founder of Rhode Island Foot and Ankle - Center for Heel Pain, Dr. Volpe has been providing foot and ankle care to thousands of adults and children throughout southern New England. Dr. Volpe is a native of Cranston, RI and he obtained his Bachelor's Degree from Providence College. He received his Podiatric Medicine Degree from the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa.

Dr. Volpe and his team are simply wonderful! From the moment I called to make an appointment, the staff was friendly and helpful, and greeted me as though they’d always known me when I went in for my first appointment. Dr. Volpe knew I was squeamish and extremely anxious about having my ingrown toenails corrected. The whole staff did everything to make me feel as comfortable as possible - from putting up a screen so I couldn’t see anything, reclining me in the chair, and repeatedly checking in to make sure I was still doing ok. I had to have each big toe done separately, so I’ve been back

Dr. Handley was in Bradenton until he went to
RI in 2017. He did surgery on my achilles tendon and left me with no feeling in my foot and unable to walk. Three years later I am still suffering and he disappeared before he finished the job he started. Cortez Foot and Ankle refused to help me after Dr. Handley left and I'm still looking for answers.i wouldn't trust Dr. Handley with surgery of any kind.
