Services
The story of Bargain John's Antiques is a good one. It all began in 1968 when John and Annette Ostrom started buying and selling antiques out of the family's home. His business was known as the Poor-Man's Friend Antiques and Second Hand Store. And the motto was, "We buy, sell, and trade for anything that does not eat!" (understandable for a man with three kids and three ponies).

Imagine my surprise to find this antique business open on the 4th of July; I had traveled 1300 miles to pick up an antique to deliver to a Kansas museum and expected to have to wait for it to re-open on the 5th or 6th. Two of the owners even helped me load the antique - no small feat as it had to be partially dismantled and packed just right for the trip. This is truly an outstanding, dedicated establishment.

Wow! You would be hard pressed to find more high end antique furniture pieces anywhere. Don't be fooled by the size of the store, they have another warehouse nearby loaded with some amazing quality antique furniture. Price tags seemed rather high but they were willing to deal and I walked out with a couple nice pieces I couldn't find in several large cities.

Our favorite Nebraska stop! Great collection of quality antiques, owned by a knowledgeable and personable family. They've been in the antique business since the 60's so definitely know their stuff and price items fairly based on their value. They have a website too, so you can find them anytime, an they ship just about anywhere.

I'd been looking for a set of antique mission style chairs for a few years, and could find nothing locally (Phoenix, Arizona) that I liked. I tried Googling mission furniture, and up came Bargain John's. I loved one set of chairs that they had. The shipping charge was reasonable, so I bought them. Joni was my email contact, and she had a crate made up, the chairs packed inside and shipped, and in Phoenix within a week, where I picked them up at the shipper's warehouse. I loved the chairs, which are just as described and depicted on their site. The entire process was very easy

We were thrilled to find Bargain John's Antiques! Bargain Johns has the BEST website that is easy to navigate, informative and up to date! My husband and I were so impressed that we decided to make a trip out to Lexington, Nebraska...from Rhode Island! Upon our arrival, we were thrilled to find a friendly and knowledgeable family run business with a unique and beautiful selection of quality antiques. Lars Ostrom was especially patient with us and knowledgeable about each and every antique. Not only did we find everything we were looking for, Lars helped my husband and I organize the
