Originally part of the Gunflint Lodge, Gunflint Pines became its own resort in 1978 when Dick & Ronnie Smith purchased it from the Kerfoot family. In 2001 Bob & Shari Baker purchased it and ran it along with their two sons, Jaret & Wyatt, and with the help of Bob's parents. The boys still help as needed.

The cabins were comfortable. Expect ticky tacky nickel and dime. Very disappointed. They charged us $75 for driving over and damaging an extension cord. Mind you the extension cord( unmarked) was extended across from the office across the main drive connected to a truck in a parking lot . We were informed to be at fault for not unplugging the cord and driving around it then plugging it back in. The damage occurred in -30 degree temps while it was dark out in the morning. Stay some where that appreciates your business or expect more ticky tackiness. This occurred after renting 2 cabins for 4 nights

I love it here. This is my third season and I I’m always sad when it is time to leave. it is so peaceful, lots of trails to explore, and great places to eat. If you can get a spot on the lake, you get to enjoy your own slice of lakeshore. However, there is also a nice boat landing space to enjoy as well. Sheri and Sandy are awesome and I love that they get a kick out of my dog liking her nightly scoop of ice cream! Great pizza too!!

My family used to stay here when I was a kid a couple times every summer. We weren't able to go for the past ten years or so and I had the chance to stay here again with my fiance. We had a great time! The scenery is beautiful, the staff is super helpful, and it's so peaceful. I definitely won't be waiting such a long time to go back!

Perfect! We loved the cabin, the staff is SO FRIENDLY and down to earth! They're also very accommodating. The grounds are beautifully and naturally kept, shower house is squeaky clean! The dock and swimming area is perfect, there's even a public use fire pit and seating there for a nice evening on the lake. Superb location close to other activities too. Loved it!

A slice of heaven! I am so glad my wife stumbled across this place 3 years ago. Normally we do not go back to the same vacation spot more than once, this is our exception. You can’t ask for anything more, I am literally sitting beside the lake as I type this and two ducks just flew in and landed on the lake in front of me. There is so much to do up here, the lakes, the trails or just relaxing by the lake. If you can get a spot here (they are hard to find) you will not regret it! And I don’t care what anyone says (there are a couple of nasty reviews) the owners are FANTASTIC! They are extremely

Staying at Gunflint Pines Campground was an amazing experience. Our view from our site (2) was breath taking. Sherry and Sandy were nothing but nice. It is a very primitive campground. Bathrooms and shower house stayed well cleaned and maintained. Only thing o can think to improve is the Shower house was to narrow for handicapped accessibility. Boat rentals were reasonable. Fishing was not so good. It was exceptionally
hot weather. Everyone we encountered there was so nice and helpful. Will definitely be back.

We stayed here over Memorial Weekend. What a beautiful campground. The owners were extremely nice; even allowing us to wander through the store during their midday closure. I didn't realize what time it was, and she politely told me that she was closed, but then took another couple of minutes to give me a map and highlight some hiking trails and points of interest. One of the owners was extremely understanding about our dog, who is very fearful. We're working so hard to socialize her and the owner sat down on the step and fed her some treats to earn her trust. Our lakeside campsite was beautiful
