Do you struggle with your weight? Have you been on one, or several diet programs and either regained your lost weight each time, or even worse, not lost weight at all? Do you overeat when you're worried, bored, under stress, sad, angry, or even happy? Dr. Winifred Constable, M.D. did her undergraduate studies at Smith College, completed 2 years of graduate work in Physiology and Biochemistry at Rutgers University, and attended medical school at East Tennessee State University.
She did her residency in Internal Medicine at Kings County Hospital and Cabrini Hospital in New York City, and then went on to do sub-specialty training in Bariatric Medicine, (there is no residency in this field at this time) through medical conferences and internet training, but also very extensive studying on her own. This is very much ongoing, as the medical understanding of overweight and obesity is rapidly changing.

Most patients who come to the Balance Medical Weight Loss Program have tried other programs and failed. Some patients have never been on a weight loss diet, but know that when they come to us, they will be put on a medically healthy and safe program while being supervised by a medical doctor. Generally we will start seeing patients as young as 9 or 10 years old, and as old as people in their 80s.
We are very proud of the success of our program, 95% to 98% of our patients are losing weight and offered testimonials. Many of them have been able to decrease and/or stop medications they use for chronic disease, including insulin for diabetes. We attribute this success to the diet we design for each patient individually, and that we work with each patient on a personal level.
