Services
New York Water Taxi is the best way to get around New York by water. We have ten modern, fast vessels which can accommodate up to 149 passengers. With our front loading boats, we can leave from multiple piers throughout the New York/New Jersey Harbor, so chartering one or our boats is convenient and easy.
New York Water Taxi began in 2002 as a partnership between Douglas Durst, the real estate developer and civic benefactor, and Tom Fox, a champion of New York City's waterfront who has left an imprint on shorelines around the city. The company was born out of a vision of reclaiming New York Harbor for transportation and recreation rather than the industrial uses that had taken over the waterfront before departing for more distant shores.
Just think about it: a private employee shuttle is the ultimate perk for retaining talent. It provides your employees with a safe, efficient and private way for them to get to your locations. We can pick up and drop off from more than a dozen different piers in the NYC / NJ harbor, multiple times a day, seven days a week.
Filming & Video Shoots Looking to capture the perfect view of the New York City skyline? Look no further than chartering one of our boats. You'll be sure to get the perfect shot of our skyscrapers, bridges, and even the Statue of Liberty. Groups, Schools & Universities Book a group of 15 or more or charter an entire boat and make your next group or school outing one to remember!
We offer select partners a unique and innovative brand awareness opportunity that truly stands out in the hyper-competitive NYC market: customized interior and exteriors on our boats. Imagine your message or brand completely enveloping one or more of our boats which move around the NYC harbor and Hudson river dozens of times per day.

Damien was an amazing, entertaining tour guide, lots of fun and incredibly knowledgeable on the history not just of the main attractions (Statue of Liberty, etc) but on all of NYC. Not to mention having great… recommendations on where to eat and other must-do activities before leaving the City. For us it was our last stop before going home, and it made the trip. Thank you!!

We rode yesterday and I just want to say your crew did a fantastic job! They saw someone struggling in the water and took over and got the person out safely. They did this all very calmly and professionally. The actual tour before and after was great too. Nice and relaxing and a good way to see different areas of town.

We spoke with the people from the office and they stated we'd get a refund in the mail. We sent them everything they needed for the refund but WE STILL HAVE YET TO RECEIVE THE REFUND CHECK. It was the owners people because they told us the name and the same information from the owner. It's February and we went back in the middle of December. There is NO POINT in going further. Just get on the other ferries. They travel faster are nicer and look like a better and more fun time. Will NEVER get on this or buy a ticket from them EVER again.

It's a nice hop-on hop-off day tour. Staff on board was very friendly and helpful. They took a real good care of my parents. You get the great skyline views. It goes real close to liberty island and even stops close to it if passangers on board want to take pictures. Would definitely recommend anyone visiting New York.

While the taxi guys tell you that getting on at each stop is "first come, first serve," and you get a "schedule" of times to catch the boat out of each stop, realize you are NOT guaranteed a return trip. We waited nearly 2 hours for a boat out of Brooklyn, even though we were only 16 people back in line and in line 4 or 5 departures before the last… boat of the day. We luckily made it on and back to our destination on the second to last boat. They are eager to sell you the "tour" for $37 and tell you it's hop on and hop off all day, but just because you're in line and paid means nothing

We had a wonderful time on the water taxi and our tour guide was Lee. I cannot say enough about him, he was fantastic! You can tell he loves people and loves his job. He was very entertaining, informative, personable, and made the trip fun. He also got to know all of us passengers. We rode twice and were fortunate to get him again on the second ride! I only wish I’d thought to get a picture with Lee!

No regrets at all.
Was originally considering the Circle Cruise but after seeing how packed circle is, I was happy I avoided that mess.
Water Taxi is quick, and gives you a really good snapshot of NY from the water. The guide was interesting, witty and offered advice for photo ops.
An entire loop is about 70 minutes but you can definitely get off at any of the four piers and get back on a later trip.
Super convenient cuz their schedule allows you to plan your day the way you want. Plus they have piers uptown, downtown and Brooklyn.
My advice book online DIRECTLY through the water taxi company

They should allow you to give half stars.I would've given this 3 1/2. But because the boat was not on the schedule, consistently 15 minutes or so late at each stop which was made a little more frustrating because there was no communication from the ticket takers as to when the boat was coming. Seems like a simple solution have communication between the boat and the dock. In any case, the crew was pleasant enough, The boat was well-maintained end it was a safe/uneventful water outing which was most important. Very important to check the schedule as they canceled boats that were on the pre-printed

We were in NTC for the day to see the 911 Memorial as well as some of the touristy things like the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, etc and while we were in Battery Park we saw the water taxi and noticed it made stops at the places we wanted to visit. Given it was a beautiful day, we thought it would a wonderful way to see the city and tour from the water versus mass transit. One thing to note is the boarding fee is basically an all day pass to get on/off the taxi at one of it's many spots up and down NY (you can look up the map). I recommend getting tickets early since you are paying for

Heidi was our guide. She was rude to the kids. My kids were 7 and 9 and completely well mannered but went to sit at the foldable seats at the back of the boat as they didn’t know it wasn’t permissible. Heidi shouted at them saying “kids.,get off..it’s uncool etc.” she really scared the kids. We looked around and there weren’t any sign saying those seats can’t be seated. She also made offensive comments regarding China Town and kids in general during her guide. A very rude woman. We usually give big tips but we didn’t tip yet one cent.

We just were in the "NEW YEAR CELEBRATION CRUISE" with water taxi and didn´t have a good experience. They make it sound on the website as though a great experience with a great menu, tv to watch the ball drop, etc. It sounds really nice, and with the high cost of $199.00 dollars per person, You would imagine it is a great experience. The… reality, is that you don´t even have a table to have dinner, food was so bad and HIGHLY OVER PRICED, they have no signal for you to watch the tv ball drop, music and sound were terrible, all the people on be boat were complaining as the actual

We opted for the sunset cruise at 7:30. I purchased through their website link on Yelp and was provided with a coupon code for $5 off per ticket of $31. The cruise actually leaves from pier 16 not 11 it's about a 5 minute walk apart.
We were very early so took a stroll along the water and found a hole in the wall dive called the Fisherman something. We ducked in for a cocktail and headed back to pier 16 about 15 mins before departure.
The sun was just getting ready to set but we wanted the best views so we sat outside up top. Bring a cost, it gets extra cold at sunset.

This was an amazing tour. I was very dubious when my parents suggested it and I don't really have sea-legs, so I wasn't looking forward to it. Turns out - I loved it. The tour guide was hilarious and extremely knowledgeable. If I remember rightly, he had a sing-a-long with everyone joining in. Unfortunately we didn't get on to Liberty Island due to the clean-up after hurricane Katrina, but it couldn't be helped. I would most definitely recommend this tour.

We had a great time and did get to see the highlights of the NYC sights.
Our tour guide was Jim.... great sense of humor and very knowledgeable of NY and it's history.
Patrick, the boat guide also made the trip very enjoyable.
It was well worth the $120 for a day's trip.
Don't buy the 9/11 museum tickets for the same day; there is not enough time to walk through it and make it back to the ferry before the end of the day.
This tour does not let you get onto Ellis Island or Liberty Island but the boat does drive up pretty close to it and is worth the trip.
Just be aware, once the tour is over

Took my parents on the SOLE on the Zephyr for my Mom's birthday. The Statue of Liberty Cruise Express is an hour long cruise that costs $30 for an adult, I'm a regular on Groupon, of course, and found a deal for only $16 a ticket! Haha, can't get away from the fact that I'm a Mom of two, coupons and discounts are my way to go, in this case, I saved about 49% per ticket!
We walked onto the piers, it was a beautiful sunny day and the staff took our picture at the entry of the line. The boat docked, we got on and headed off exactly at the time stated on our tickets.
