My photography has always revolved around people and their stories. Whatever stage of life you are in; newly engaged, becoming a parent for the first time, an entrepreneur starting your own business, I want to document the magic, beauty and chaos of your everyday life and important milestones.

Services
I'm Melissa, a color happy gal and a lover of impromptu dance parties and anything that involves bacon and avocado. Folks who know me well would describe me as a child at heart who's got some killer party planning skills and an obsession with unicorns and mermaids. I photograph people who are looking for someone to capture the joy and chaos of their everyday lives and important milestones with a unique eye for detail, color and genuine emotion.
All sessions include my time and talent and an online gallery of digital files with a print release. A 30 minute portrait session at the location of your choice (must be within 10 miles of Lancaster City or 15 minute drive from my home). Includes up to 30 digital files in an online gallery with print release.
A: I consider myself a natural light documentary style photographer. I want to capture real life moments and genuine emotions. I am inspired by colors, light, movement and connection. If you're feeling awkward, I promise to provide direction to create natural images that are not stiff and posed. Though I am happy to take photos of your family smiling at the camera, my focus will be more on your interaction.

I’m thrilled with the photos from my mommy and me shoot. I generally don’t like to have my picture taken but absolutely loved the results. I love Melissa’s candid style because it captures so much emotion. She was so easygoing and calm which really helped with my energetic 4 year old. I couldn’t believe the little moments she captured and can’t wait to get large prints. I’d definitely recommend her!

I love the photos Melissa Engle Photography took of my family on our vacation to Lancaster, PA! Last-minute we needed her to come to us, instead of meeting at the set destination -- it was no problem! She brought tons of ideas and also was flexible, taking impromptu shots of our daughter's natural playfulness, resulting in amazing photos! When we returned to the B&B, our 3-year-old asked for my phone and started propping her doll up in different locations to do her own photoshoot! It was a fun and relaxing experience for my whole family and we couldn't be happier with the photos! The hardest part

Melissa really went above and beyond our expectations! She gave several suggestions for our photo shoot and when we proposed a different one she took her time to do some research for us. She was very quick in everything: responding emails, texts, calls and also getting our pictures ready to share with the world. I definitely recommend her and we will be requiring her services for more photo sessions along the road for sure! Highly recommended. Pictures are just perfect!

I first met Melissa when she took photos of a client of mine years ago. When I became pregnant I knew I wanted her to take our family photos. She is able to capture important moments that no one else sees! She’s taken our maternity, newborn and one-year photos. During our daughters one-year old session I get defeated because she was not in the mood to take photos... when Melissa sent us the first set of photos, I couldn’t believe how many smiles she captures. We will hold these memories close for years to come!

We love the pictures! Melissa did a really good job before, during and after the session! She took your time to visit the park the day before, her willingness to work with my fiance for the engagement proposal and how quickly she was able to send us the sneak peek so we could share with our family and friends that same night, made a complete and really happy experience! It was really a wonderful experience and we look forward to working with her in the fututre again :)

I found Melissa randomly on Facebook last year and now we have done two 15-minute mini sessions. We couldn’t have been more surprised with what she was able to capture of us and our two toddlers in that short amount of time. She is such a talented photographer, but also was able to almost immediately connect with our kids and make us all feel comfortable in front of the camera. I love that she captures moments, and the photos she gave us feel like real slices of our life and not just unnatural and super-posed versions of it. We hope to have Melissa be our family photographer for life!

Melissa is wonderful! She has now captured both my pregnancies, newborn photos of both our girls and 1-year old pictures of our oldest! I am so impressed every time I get my pictures back. Melissa took our family photos during one of her mini sessions and honestly I could not have been happier with how they turned out! I have a 3 year old and 1 year old and her outgoing personality got them both to smile as well as look at the camera which is always such a hard task. I love how she didn’t make us stand there and do super posed shots. Her shots are more about real life and movement which I loved! Both Melissa and the photos she takes are great and I cannot recommend her enough!
