He fought long and hard to beat Severe Aplastic Anemia and we were blessed to have two years with him continuing to be involved in the practice and mentoring where he could. Dr. Penrod cared about each one of his patients and loved the friendships he had built over the years with so many. Dr. Rebekah Ballard was born and raised in San Diego where she started working at her father's orthodontic practice when she was 14. Her love for dentistry and enthusiasm for learning grew as she started assisting chairside. While she attended San Diego State University, she participated in the Wind Symphony and Marching Aztec Band playing clarinet, and received her B.S. in Biology.
Kathleen started in dentistry over 20 years ago earning her RDA and eventually working as an Office Manager for a specialty practice. She prides herself on running a practice that is driven by customer service so that every patient has a positive dental experience each time they visit the office. Kathleen and her husband have two daughters, and spend as much time as they can riding their motorcycles.
Penrod Dental's Rancho Santa Margarita dental practice opened over ten years ago in 2004. It is designed specifically to provide the ultimate dental experience. We believe in giving our patients personalized, gentle, high-quality dentistry on their schedule at a reasonable price. Our RSM dental office uses the latest technology and techniques in dental design to give our patients the best experience every time they visit.

I was blessed they accommodated my request for and appointment. I moved to Northern cal a couple of years ago, my insurance changed. Could not get in until February up there. I had a trip to Santa Margarita, Penrod Dental got me in. No waiting in the lobby. X-rays, clean and ready to go. Awesome job

Easily one of the best dental experiences I have ever had. Mine was just for a cleaning, X-rays, etc. but the staff was wonderful!
Dentist I have been to in the past just seem to want to “upsell” you (you must get a full deep cleaning $$$, all your old fillings need to be replaced $$$) and so on. So I stopped going for several years.
But the experience at Penrod was the exact opposite! They respect what you want and really need! If you may need a deep cleaning for a couple areas then ok, but that would after a couple of standard cleanings to see if it is really needed. Same with old fillings

AMAZING!! 👏😃 I was visiting my Nephews for the Holiday Season and my tooth chipped. The Office was Busy and yet, they not only Welcomed me, they were able to see me the same day and treat my tooth. After our dentist retired, it was time to find someone new. We've seen the positive reviews of this practice for years, so I reached out to them.
I was overdue for a cleaning and an initial exam. I was greeted by a lady who radiated her smile across the phone, and she answered my questions. An appointment was scheduled later that day ( probably available because of the heavy rain ).
When I arrived at the office I was immediately greeted and within minutes I was in a treatment room. They have the latest in technology, and xrays were done quickly. The cleaning was excellent, and the exam revealed

Courteous staff and very accommodating. They got me in for a same day appointment and helped with a specific issue that no other dentist in the area could help with. I was in and out quickly, and they did a great job! Plus super friendly staff and very clean + updated facilities.

I had gone to a pediatric dentist elsewhere and I wanted to get a second opinion. They were so nice and made it easy for my son. Actually a way nicer environment for him

I went for my first appointment to Penrod Dental Care and found the entire staff I dealt with to be very welcoming and friendly. My Dental Hygienist, Angelica, was very efficient and thorough. After she completed x-rays and gum readings, Dr. King came in and examined my teeth and gums. I was very happy with the way he explained everything and included me in the discussion regarding any further or future treatment. My first experience at Penrod Dental was fantastic! Kathleen got me in for a dental emergency on short notice. During my visit, the whole staff couldn’t have been nicer.They knew that I was very anxious during my visit and really went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. Kathleen took a long time explaining my treatment plan and made me feel very comfortable about the procedure that I needed. I would highly recommend Penrod Dental to anyone.

What a phenomenal dental appointment! The hygienist took some time to get to know me before doing a complete set of X-rays, including a panoramic X-ray. Before doing one of the most thorough cleanings that I have ever experienced at any dental office, she measured and had an assistant record the amount of recession of the gums at each tooth. Both the hygienist and dentist reviewed the X-rays, and the dentist completed a thorough exam, having an assistant note which teeth had old fillings and small cracks that needed to be watched on future visits. They spent an hour and a half on me! I was so thrilled

My family and I have being going to Penrod Dental for many years. My daughter has been seeing them twice a year since she was 2 and she loves going to the dentist.
