Services
Treating our younger patients is an important part of APT. Hawaii in general is under-served with not enough child and adolescent psychiatrists to keep up with demand. With knowledge of a wide array of psychiatric illness, our child and adolescent psychiatry providers bring these important services to our patients.
Suboxone is a medication that can significantly assist with the detoxification and continued sobriety of opiate addiction. Opiates include heroin, or strong painkilling medications such as morphine, codeine, oxycodone, hydrocodone, and fentanyl, OxyContin, Vicodin, Percocet, Actiq, etc. Addiction to opiates can happen to anyone.
Psychotherapy or "talk therapy" is an important part of treatment for many mental health issues. From treating depression, anxiety, and grief, to managing PTSD, addiction, or relationship conflict, psychotherapy is often a critical mainstay for care. Sometimes, certain conditions can be managed with therapy and not require any medications, while other times it is used in a complimentary fashion with medication management.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: We now can provide Theta Burst Stimulation (TBS), a type of TMS treatment in lieu of traditional TMS protocols that can significantly decrease time and potentially increase efficacy of TMS treatments. Depression is debilitating. It drains the enjoyment from everyday events, deteriorates relationships, and interferes with work.
Dr. Jeremy Roberts is a Board Certified psychiatrist who received his medical degree at Medical College of Wisconsin and trained in Psychiatry at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA. His passion for science, mathematics, and computers extends naturally into his career, aiding in his goal of bringing the best care to his patients.
