Services
The Halwig Funeral Home first opened business in Olean in 1919 and continued under Halwig family ownership until 1977. New owners Robert S. Adams, Jr. and Robert J. Frisina operated the funeral home until their respective retirements, and in 1998 the firm was purchased by Kenneth M. Hartle.

With the recent acquisition of the Hamilton St. building and land by Jamestown Community College in the year 2000, Halwig Funeral Home owner Ken Hartle needed a new location on which to build and operate. The R. Dennis Casey Funeral Home had moved in 1999 to a new location and it made for an excellent opportunity for both Dennis Casey and Ken Hartle to merge their two businesses into one at the current operating location.

Family and friends getting together to honor a loved one's life is one of the most important steps in the grieving and healing process. You may opt to have a traditional religious or military service, or as more and more people are doing, you can choose to have a non-traditional 'life celebration'.
Arranging a funeral for a family member who has just died is an immense responsibility. If you don't believe that, ask someone who has just gone through the process. It is an emotionally, mentally and often physically draining experience. More often than not, we find families questioning each other during funeral arrangements as to what their family member may have wanted as far as the funeral ceremony.

Both my mother and father were buried from this funeral home. They'd prepared in advance for their funerals and so when the time came, all that was necessary was simply to get them transported back to town. We lived in Grand Rapids, Mi. at the time dad passed and these gentlemen took care of everything for my mother and I. I only made one phone call and they completely took over the situation within the hour. They did the same when mom passed seven years later in Buffalo. Both times they did a wonderful job, and their care and compassion was and still is greatly appreciated. I'd recommend Casey

Very helpful to the family. Able to adjust the size of the rooms based on the expected amount of people coming to pay their respects. They also assist in arrangements from the church, services there and on to the cemetery. They provide a tent and chairs graveside
