Once again A-1 Automotive has been there for me when I had a problem with my truck. This time my water pump was leaking, and this can be a big problem with any vehicle. They recognized the problem right away, got me right in and replaced it. Excellent customer service and value for the money! I highly recommend this business. These are good, honest folks!

Very nice people. I had a problem finding a oil temp sensor which was throwing a code. I got stumped. Lol. But took it in for a diagnostic and they found the sensor and switched it out. But it wasn't the problem. It end up being the wiring to the sensor. Which I checked after the check light came back on and fixed it my self. So in all the wasnt all a waste of taking it there. He pinned pointed the sensor for me, just failed to check the connector for fray wires. Good mechanic and very knowledgeable. He meant well just every one drops the ball once a while.

Drove a long way to purchase an old sports car and found this place to do an inspection. Great $85 spent. Got the impression Adam absolutely knew what he was talking about. Told me the car wasnt going to pass smog and he wouldnt charge me to check it. Long list of current and potential problems. Seller made it seem like it was a weekend car, not his project drag car. Oh well. Thanks Adam.

Adam is a great mechanic. He saved me at least half of what other mechanics had quoted me. He also took car of other problems that he had found. My 1969 Chevelle runs better than it ever has. The Muncie M-22 Rock Crusher 4-speed that he installed, so easily, runs great! I will use him for all of my car repairs.

Nothing more than a glorified smog shop. If you have a REAL problem with your vehicle, they'll give you some bs excuse on why they can't fix it, charge you $80, and dump it back on you with the same problem it had when you took it in.
Only reason for the two star review and not one, is that the front desk lady Karen, is really nice.

I started coming here in 2013. Before I moved from Tehachapi I was having problems with the AC in my Mitsubishi Lancer. After taking it to multiple auto repair shops in Tehachapi, I finally had A1 recommended to me. I've had the absolute worst luck with mechanics in the past, but after meeting Adam, Karen, and Tanner I will never go anywhere else. My husband and I have taken multiple cars to Adam for multiple reasons and he is amazing, always ready to help and give to you straight. I don't know what we would ever do if we didnt have them. Took my truck in with an idea of the problem, they did a diagnosis and replaced my spark plugs and a coil in record time! The Lady at the front desk was so kind and friendly to my son and I as we waited. The work and service are top level. I've been here twice for Smog certification. They open at 7:00 am on Saturday. Perfect! Very friendly and fast. Reasonable price and they have a coupon.
Note: If you're looking for a ritzy shop with a modern lounge and free bottled water from an exotic location, this is not your shop. If you want good work at a reasonable price at a convenient time, A-1 Automotive is the right place to go.

Took my truck in for some routine maintenance (oil change), a small leak from my tranny plug and thanks to Adam for picking up my radiator was cracked and leaking and my serpentine belt was very worn and needed replacement. This is the sort of detailed attention that saves engines! Whew! Thanks to Adam, Karen and Tanner for the good company and helping me keep my pride and joy safely on the road!

Very pleased with our experience with A-1! Brought our car here, it was in need of some mechanical repairs, not much, but they needed to be done in order to pass smog.
Made the mistake of taking it to one of those smog places by the DMV first, and was quoted an outrageous amount and didn't really leave feeling all warm and fuzzy.
Brought the car to A-1, and after the first 2 minutes of talking to the owner Tanner, we knew this was the right place. He was very knowledgeable, explained what was going on with the car, why it wasn't passing smog, and after that, we felt very confident

RIP OFF !!! Don't waste your time.I brought a brand new motor to him for smog as I needed it to be on a dyno, he cut a PVC line and a second line. Motor had 250 miles on it, with all new equipment. Brought it back to original mechanic and he pointed the new damage out to me.
At A-1 he wanted $300 to fix it, my mechanic $45. See you in court!!
