Montalvo on Montana was founded in 1988 and since has been serving the Santa Monica and West LA area in providing premium tailoring services as well as outfitting members of our community in custom clothing. Esmail Astanboos is the proprietor of Montalvo on Montana and operates the business with his sons.

We carry a selection of the finest fabrics from the most reputable mills in England, Italy, France, Scotland. Choose from wool, cashmere, silk, cotton, camel hair, linen, mohair (or blends of these fibers) in every weight, weave or color from such venerable firms as Loro Piana, Emenigildo Zegna, Barbieri, Scabal, Holland & Sherry and Dormeuil.

The Process begins with about 14 measurements and an interview to understand any particular needs our customer has. The Interview is to understand your lifestyle and getting to know you so we can recommend fabrics and styles that suit you and your personality. The Style of each shirt varies, as there are many choices of collars, cuffs, stitching, pockets, plackets, buttons, tails, monograms and fit.

Custom-made jeans for men and women who want the comfort of denim and the fit that only custom-made apparel can provide. Bring your favorite jeans with you and we will copy the fit while creating a personalized design. We offer Italian denim that contains a small amount of lycra to ensure maximum comfort and flexibility while maintaining durability.

At Montalvo on Montana, the complete reconstruction of suits, shirts and dresses is just as common in our workshop as are tapering and shortening jeans while keeping the original designer hem. We offer comprehensive alteration services for both men and women and are trusted with our customers most delicate garments.
