Holdrege Memorial Homes is a Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living facility, and is proud to be the only facility in the area offering spacious private rooms to all residents regardless of their payer source.

Mr. Nelson was one of the original incorporating members of the Memorial Homes project, and Mr. Swanson was an early financial contributor. This photo is circa 1952. In the early 1940s, residents of Phelps County, and the surrounding area, recognized the increasing need to establish a residence for their older citizens.
In 1973, Methodist Memorial Homes received a large bequest from the Melvin and Selma Anderson Estate that enabled the facility to construct the South Health Care Unit. The gift consisted of 840 acres of land, the Andersons' Holdrege residence and $120,000 in annuities and cash. This photo is of the presentation of the check and the abstracts of title to MMH.
