The Perpetual Motion Gymnastics actually began in 1972 as a Maryville College community outreach program initiated and directed by Gary Thibodeau while he was an instructor within the Maryville College Physical Education Department. Perpetual Motion was established by Gary in 1976. The Business originated in a downtown building owned by Dr. Bob Profit and located near the Maryville Daily Times.
Bob was a major help in those first few establishment years. We will always be grateful for his initial encouragement and assistance. It was during this initial period, that Perpetual Motion added it's second major program - a full time educational preschool. In 1979 Perpetual Motion purchased the Brown School Property from the County.

Services
To enroll, simply call 865-984-1253 and a director can set up a virtual or a walk through tour of our preschool. If you have older children we can add an extended tour of our gymnasium, pools, and both our game building and Summer Camp homeroom facility. To start you will need your child's shot records, the registration fee, and first weeks tuition.
Our one year old room focuses on creating a bond between child, teacher, and family. This classroom is child-directed, and the curriculum is full of play-based activities. We also have circle time, art time, and music time everyday, of course at each child's individual pace. Throughout each day we are having fun and practicing our hand and finger development, language, social/emotional, movement, thinking, and learning skills.
