We've spliced together our deep knowledge of media assets, our ability to strategically organize information, and our inquisitive nature to bring you the best of DAM solutions and media partnerships. Aldis was born inside the walls of a post-production house where good media organization is critical.
Digital Asset Management systems are complicated and there's no getting around it. No matter how much a vendor says their platform is easy to deploy, intuitive to use, or infinitely customizable on the outside, complex systems have complex workings. Setting up a new system takes a lot of careful thought, and existing systems still require care to work well.
Read how Aldis librarians and media experts have helped companies organize their digital assets and streamline their workflow. The Aldis team came on board to establish The Toro Company's CatDV system for all of their digital assets. Ellie was surprised to find someone willing to work with an existing system - emphasis on the word work.
At Aldis, we're chiefly working with technical solutions that help our clients manage digital media, so some people are surprised to find that our team consists of a number of librarians with degrees in Library and Information Science. A DAM wouldn't be worth a damn if you didn't have quality metadata to help you find and use what you need!
Many organizations have media with priceless historical and institutional value stored on tapes, discs, drives, or film, all of which come with unique storage and conversion needs, and all of which deteriorate, leading to preventable loss of your valuable content.

Some conditions that can lead to loss include frequency of use, the age of the tape format, the storage conditions, demagnetization, physical damage to the case and internal mechanisms, and compatibility issues as things like tape decks become harder to come by or more difficult to repair.Humidity and temperature in particular can cause damage to pretty much any type of media, and can lead to film and tape in particular drying out or warping.
