Our garage door’s cable snapped, forcing us to manually open/close it while we searched for a garage door repair company...
First company came - Long Island Garage Service - and gave us a ridiculous estimate of $675. He explained how the entire door would have to be removed and the assembly reconstructed. All this could happen in a half hour and the work would be guaranteed for 90 days. He made a quick phone call “to the office” and was able to knock $100 off the price because I told him the price was outrageous. We ultimately told him to (politely) get lost, as we felt we were being taken

I hired this company to install a new garage door opener which they did. A few days later I was having issues with the door opening and closing so I called them at which point they told me it would be a $80 service fee just to look at the issue. I agreed to the charge and they came back and fixed the issue which took about 5 minutes. A few days later I started having more issues with the garage door and I contacted them. They advised me they would be coming the following afternoon. When I tried to contact them to get a time they avoided my calls & voicemails. They never showed up to fix the issue

I cannot recommend Joe at JD Garage Doors enough. This was one of the best experiences I have ever had with a service company. Realized this morning (Sunday) that one of the springs and cables on our garage door snapped. I found Joe on Yelp, called and left a message and assumed I would get a call back during the week. Joe called me an hour later, offered to come the next day, which I thought was great that he even offered that. Unfortunately my schedule wouldn't work, then Joe offered to come today... like in 30 minutes. He came to my house, explained everything and even showed me a safety

Joe responded to my inquiry regarding replacing my old garage motor with a new one within a few minutes. He explained everything thoroughly over the phone and gave me a few options to think about. I called him back a few minutes later and the very next day he arrived and did the job as promised in a timely and professional manner. He demonstrated each and every feature of the new unit and his price was more than fair. I would recommend Joe to anyone that needs to fix their garage.

Wow! Talk about professionalism. I couldn't be happier with my new garage door opener. My wife and I stood in the garage opening and closing the door several times in pure appreciation of Joe's work and craftsmanship. To top it off, dealing with Joe was a great too. A down to earth guy with a genuine approach to doing a good job while educating you at the same time. I wish all my tradesman could be like Joe. Highly recommend to all. A++++++.

Joe is awesome! He had the opportunity to charge me for additional parts and make more money and he told me that I was better off waiting and not spending the extra cash. He was on-time and efficient. He knew what he was doing. The whole thing was quick and easy. I needed someone. He was there in 2 hours. I would highly recommend him and I'm sure I will use him again!

Joe Dubowski is respectful of his clients' time and property. He responds quickly and keeps you posted if he is to be delayed.

I have to say as far as service goes, JD is on the job! My garage door was not opening and closing smoothly so I called JD at 5:30pm Thursday. Joe was great on the phone asking some diagnostic questions and promptly made an appt for 11am the next morning. As promised, he called me to confirm appt and then texted me 30 minutes prior to arriving at house. He explained everything very clearly and gave me 2 choices to make the necessary repairs. It was a pleasure to find a great contractor on LI. Only wish he did more than garage doors! Thanks
