Twin Pines Resort
Ever wonder what you would do if you had a mid-life crisis? Buy a fast car, boat, or maybe take a world tour. Bet you would never have thought of buying an aging vacation resort in Lake George, NY-but to each their own! Tom is a retired school teacher of 23 years and his late wife, Mary Lou, had been a school principal for 20 years.

Both had no clue what to expect when they embarked on their adventure of resort ownership. They brought with them two sons, Thomas and Scott, as well as a desire to succeed in the face of adversity. Together, they set out to revive an old Adirondack resort. Twin Pines on Trout Lake has been in constant operation as a historic resort since 1918.

The grounds are well keep and you have options for lake or woods.
The cottage wasn't bad, however, the air conditioning did not work well and was filthy. As soon as the lights went out the mice over our heads became extremely active. There were holes in the ceilings and walls which were covered by stuffing paper towels in.
We did enjoy the camp fire very much.
The row boats didn't have oar holes so we had to use the canoe paddles. Not as easy for the row boat.
You are completely off the technology grid!! No cell phone and barely wifi. Beware!

Great laid back atmosphere, and friendly owner/staff. Not the most glamorous resort, but it’s kept my family coming back for decades!

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. My entire family was supposed to rent the main house a few weeks ago. Upon arrival, not only was the place completely dilapidated with soft wet bathroom floors, wobbly toilets and so much more but there was some sort of gas leak. My husband and father went to the main office and the owners son came to check it out. He said the smell must be "residual". After talking to him, he said the upstairs was condemned and in the next couple years they wont be renting it. I wish I had taken photos. We had very disappointed children. We ended up staying at The Amber Lantern,

Twin Pines Resort and Vacation Rentals is a rustic resort located roughly 10 minutes from Bolton Landing. Rustic cabins provide comfortable living with emanates such as AC, kitchen, fridge, full bath and firepit. Many cabins are aged and unique with slight imperfections such as a slightly angled floor or a wonky fixture. This only adds to the esthetic and is typically not an issue. Cabins range from motel style to stand alone cabins for larger parties. Prices and photos can be found on their website. Twin pines further has a game room with pool and ping pong tables and a small laundry facility

Very nice view, specially at sunset. Cabins were quite spacious for the amount of people we had (30+). The only real gripes I had were the fact that certain cell phone carriers had virtually no signal, and the cabins themselves needed a little work done as far as maintenance.

5th time we are here and it is a great get away spot. There is one bar with Verizon and onsite wifi. But you should just be enjoying the laid back semi rustic amenities . All the cabins have bathrooms and hot shower small efficiency kitchens even basic plates and pots and pans . The lake is very clean does allow gas power boats and there is some good fishing saw perch lake trout and sunnies . The have kayaks row boats paddle boats and canoes available first come first serve included

Quaint, rustic and welcoming. The cabins are dated but provide the basics for what we need. No Tv's, but there is limited Wi-Fi. Don't expect a good phone signal. The beach is great and the swimming area is ideal for families with small children. We love it here and come back year after year.

HORRIBLE! WE got there had to wait for the man to stop visiting with someone and get us a room key.....went to our room, the floor was literally rotting, the whole room smelled of urine, there was no tv, just an old bed, with a dirty blanket and a table with one broken chair and one chair that was less than sturdy. The room was connecting to another room that did not lock and there were people there! We asked for our money back and were told NO! We left and went to another hotel....paid less and had a nice clean room!

My sister Jeanmarie found this place about 7 years ago. Every year we go back with more family members. Are the cabins old yes they are but if you are looking for family bonding there is no better place. We rent a boat for the week, fish every morning, tube in the afternoon, kids love the beach and they have all kinds of equipment for the water. Everything you need is right there. The owner Tom is the most accomadating man I have ever met. Best part is you really relax and unwind. My only regret is that we didn't find it when kids were little but even at college age they can't wait to go every
