Services
Charles Quimby is Executive Director and Chief Instructor of Authentic Karate Training Center, which he founded in 2010. He began studying karate at the age of twelve and currently holds the rank of Nanadan (7thdegree black belt) in Okinawan Uechi-Ryu Karate. Sensei Quimby's passion and enthusiasm as both a practitioner and teacher were evident early in his career.
Authentic Karate Training Center is conveniently located in the West Peabody Educational and Business Center, the former location of the JFK Peabody Middle School. Our newly constructed facility was customer designed to provide students with the most authentic training environment possible.

Our Juniors Karate Program at Authentic Karate Training Center was specifically designed to target the stages of development of 4-6 year olds. This program engages children in physical activity and focuses on the development of the student's gross and fine motor skills while learning the fundamentals of Okinawan Karate.
Our Children's Karate Program caters to children ages 7 - 12 and is designed to help your child UNLOCK their FULL potential. Our goal is to help mold your child into a LEADER and emphasize the qualities that bring out the BEST in his or her personality.

This is our second karate dojo. The first one my son absolutely refused to go to, there would be a lot of crying and convincing. I was hesitant in trying another dojo thinking the experience would be similar and did not want to put my self or my son through that again. I am happy so say that our experience at the Authentic Karate has been very pleasant! After a few visits I noticed that my son isn’t fighting me to go to classes and seems to be enjoying it there. My 5 year old is 6 months into his Karate experience. We’ve noticed huge positive differences in his behavior and body control. Even at 5 years old, his attitude and listening capabilities have grown substantially. I’ve seen home videos of other dojo’s where it seems to be more of a playground than a professional karate dojo; the instructors working here instill the necessary obedience in the most professional manner I’ve seen. Authentic sticks to the routes of karate and shares not only the art but the history as well. My son looks forward to karate each week and talks about it non stop

Approaching my 40s a few months ago, I wanted to make some life changes. Let me tell you, joining the Authentic Karate Training Center was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. When I reached out to Authentic, Chip and Andrew were super helpful getting me into a training routine THAT WORKS! Since May I’ve managed to shed over 30lbs and I am testing for my first promotion in a matter of weeks! I began my journey with Authentic Karate Training Center six months ago. I found the dojo to be extremely welcoming and friendly, and not just in the beginning, but every class since. Everyone is so encouraging and supportive. I am continuously inspired by my Sensei and fellow students. The classes are challenging, both mentally and physically, but at AKTC, it is truly understood that people learn and get stronger at different paces. It is that understanding that makes it a fun, comfortable place to grow. I love the focus karate requires, because it forces me to be completely present during class

If you are looking to have your child enrolled in a dojo, look no further. Authentic Karate has been a tremendous find for our family. Both of our daughters (ages 7 and 4) attend Authentic Karate and we have been impressed every step of the way. The communication and rapport that the staff has with both students and families is top notch. My oldest has gained confidence and endurance, while my youngest who is full of energy remains focused and attentive for the entirety of the class. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

I can't say enough great things about this amazing Dojo! It's super clean, well organized, and the perfect environment! The amount of positive reinforcement, discipline, confidence, and overall joy my son has gotten from it is leaving an everlasting impression. The Authentic Karate Training Center is outstanding! Our child has been attending the Juniors Program for about six months and he loves it. Sensei Chip and his staff are caring, patient, personable, highly knowledgeable and very professional. The program focuses on developing and maintaining self confidence, respecting ones self and others, self discipline and achievement through dedication and hard work while all the while having fun doing it. High marks for Authentic Karate! We highly recommend this program.
