Selecting a pre-school can be challenging and one of the most important decisions you will make for your young child. Scottsdale Academy has an accredited educational and social environment, as well as a creative curriculum, specifically developed for young children and is recognized as a Florida Gold Seal Quality Program.
The school is open from 7:00 AM till 6:00 PM Monday through Friday. We are closed for all major holidays and a teacher planning day the last day of the summer session. We offer a year-round infant care program, for babies as young as 6 weeks, through Pre-Kindergarten/VPK.

Scottsdale Academy welcomes you and your child to a fun-filled and accredited learning environment. We understand the stresses of working parents and non-traditional families, and commend the stay-at-home parents who want to improve their child's social skills. The goal at our preschool is to allow your child to feel they are at their "other home" when they step through our doors.
From infant care to preschool, we strive to create a sense of community by building upon each child's background, language, and learning abilities so that each child feels a positive sense of self. Scottsdale Academy is a private preschool in Tallahassee, FL. Our Child Development Center specializes in maximizing teachable moments for children to develop cognitively, socially, emotionally and physically through teaching, play experiences, interactions, and a very loving and nurturing family-type atmosphere.
Lunch Provided by Parents or Freshly Prepared in-house option for a nominal fee Available Mon.-Fri. Bachelors in Early Childhood Development, Child Development Associate, or 45 Hours of State Educational Course Work. At Scottsdale Academy, children gain independence and self-control by learning to trust others and by learning the appropriate ways to take initiative while respecting other people. In our preschool program, children are encouraged to make decisions, use reasoning skills, practice listening, explore their environment and express, understand and handle their feelings.

I can't say enough great things about this preschool. My eldest attended scottsdale since she was 2 months old and now my youngest currently attends. The staff is always professional and kind and the owners are amazing. Roy and Jennifer care about the kids and are always willing to help out any way they can. I know that my girls are in good hands at Scottsdale. This is the best preschool hands down.

My son is in VPK with Mrs.Donna. Mrs. Donna is amazing and the best VPK teacher that anyone could ask for! Director Rachel, assistant director Claire are absolutely amazing! My son has been at Scottsdale for 3 years and we have had no issues! Scottsdale on Mahan is the absolute best and ALL of the staff members are great to have as teachers!

My oldest son just graduated from Scottsdale and passed his last Vpk assessment with 100%, he continuously comes home excited from school and absolutely misses being there during the weekends! We now have our youngest there because no where could top Scottsdale in our families book! The teachers are amazing and they always keep you informed about what is going on at school so you can ask your child and keep their excitement!

This school is absolutely amazing. My daughter is a part-time VPK student and they have truly made her feel special. My family is not religious, and it was difficult finding a program that would not have any religious undertones, or overtones to her education. Scottsdale does not. They seem to be focused on education, not indoctrination. And they do a superb job with it. The amount of knowledge they impart on her is astounding. My 4yo and 1yo daughters attend this daycare and our family loves it! The employees are kind and eager to teach a curriculum that challenges the children. The facility is very clean. The owners are very nice and are frequently seen at the daycare. Scottsdale is our extended family. I would definitely recommend!

Our family had tried other daycares previously, but once we found Scottsdale Academy, we knew we had found the perfect environment for children to learn and grow. My kids love their teachers, the owners are amazing, and it is a relief to leave my children there knowing that they are safe and being well cared for. My five year old has learned his numbers, letters, letter sounds, and has started basic sounding out words all while in VPK and he is always excited to tell me about his day at school. My family has been a part of the Scottsdale family for more than 9 years...and we wouldn't have it any other way. Over the years, our boys have been loved on, cared for and nourished with meaningful, yet fun education by each teacher along their preschool path. Our time with Scottsdale has come to an end as the youngest 'G crew' member recently graduated VPK. We will truly miss the smiling faces of the fabulous administration, as well as the pleasant environment of the facility and the top-notch care provided. Thank you to all the teachers, staff, and administration. We have had a wonderful experience in our child's time with Scottsdale since October of 2013. We look forward to continuing with Scottsdale for our other children's preschool needs. We appreciate the experience we had interacting as well as all that she has learned to prepare her academically and socially for kindergarten. Excellent communication with parents regarding child's progress, behaviors, changes to the school and staff, and so much more.
