We had an amazing vacation in Costa Rica thanks to John and Costa Rica Escapes. Our trip was flawless. John built an itinerary that met the needs of our family, providing just the right amount of adventure and relaxation. Every ride, transfer, and tour was on time. All of our guides were amazing hospitable to our young girls. We can't wait to go back!!

Villa 37 was very well furnished, with more kitchen equipment than could be imagined, spectacular views. Got lots of exercise walking the hill down and up to the beach.
Staff/Reception very attentive and helpful.
Beach is very soft black (volcanic) sand, safe and for the Xmas holiday week was not crowded. Swimming and tidepools. Shade less than 100 feet from shore all day (in various places).
On-site restaurant has good food at reasonable prices (except for Xmas and New Year's dinners) and a kid and vegan-friendly menu.
Excurision through 3 Monkees to Palo Verde National Park was enlightening

We worked with John Vargas of Costa Rica Escapes to plan a special customized trip to Costa Rica, celebrating special birthdays of members of our small group. The goal was not to spend the majority of our trip in transport, but yet experience the regional highlights of what Costa Rica has to offer. John worked with us to tweak the itinerary to our satisfaction. We were picked up promptly at the San Jose airport, spent time in Montana deFuego, the Arenal Volacano area, hiking, rafting, propelling, and mud baths. Then on to Playa Hermosa, visiting Palo Verde National Park, chatting with the monkeys

This company was amazing. They helped setup our entire trip by presenting options and then we picked what we wanted to do. All accommodations were amazing and seamless. We went from one place to another and transportation was very trustworthy! I have recommended then several times since!

My husband and I wanted to go to Costa Rica for our honeymoon and we were lucky enough to come across Costa Rica escapes during our research. We got in contact with John Vargus who was delightful to work with in building an itinerary, working with our budget and answering all our questions along the way. We wanted an adventurous but also relaxing honeymoon in Costa Rica so went with the adventure honeymoon package. While our itinerary sounded pretty amazing and I was already VERY excited for our trip, it all exceeded our expectations. It was the prefect balance between adventure and tropical paradise

We had a great experience with Costa Rica Escapes! They booked beautiful hotels for us and our drivers were reliable and very helpful. My husband required special mobility accommodations and they made sure that we were all set. The process was straightforward and they were very responsive. We highly recommend them.

I normally do all my trip planning but somehow ran across CRE while researching Costa Rica. I cannot say enough wonderful things about CRE. John listened to what we needed/wanted to do/considered the ages of our kids/our budget and he planned a FANTASTIC vacation. We had just enough/but not too much to do each day/evening. He presented 3 price-point options for lodging for each location. John had drivers at each point, sometimes private transportation, sometimes shared. Always on time and always dependable. (We have friends who speak Spanish and they said they had a hard time
