I provided pre-adjustment massage therapy for Dr. Marcy Jones' patients at Vt. Chiropractic Orthopedic from 2005 - 2010.
I became a Nationally Certified in 2006 and Board Certified in 2014. Board Certification is the highest voluntary credential attainable to massage therapists and bodyworkers in the profession today. I am a professional member of and fully insured through the American Massage Therapy Association.

VT continues to be one of four States in the US that does not require Massage Therapists to be licensed, meaning that a massage therapist in VT does not have to have any formal training or carry insurance. Massage therapists, like myself believe this poses safety concerns to massage consumers and we continue to advocate for mandatory licensing of massage therapy in VT.
After releasing the superficial fascia with the techniques listed above, it is easier access the deeper layers of muscle. In these deeper layers, there are often a lot of trigger points that can be effectively released with this type of massage. Done correctly, this is an incredibly relaxing and effective massage therapy technique.
I am very privileged to say that I worked with Terye Wohnus, massage therapist, at Vermont Chiropractic Orthopedics for many years. She is a true professional who meets the patient where he or she is with what is the most appropriate therapy. She never pushes the patient but guides them through the steps they need to follow to heal.
Understandably, many people are hesitant to share personal information, but as with any other health care provider, any information you provide on this intake form is strictly confidential. It is necessary to fill out a health history form because it allows me to provide a massage that is medically safe as there are health issues that are contraindicted to massage or require me to proceed with caution.

Terye is wonderful to work with. I found her after having a bi-lateral knee replacement and was having difficulty with scar tissue impeding my progress. She really listened to me and worked with me in figuring out how best to address what was going on. Within two months of working with her my flexion on both legs improved by over 10 degrees. I was thrilled and so was my surgeon. I have continued to work with Terye to address other alignment issues with my legs caused by many years of misaligned knees. I can’t say enough good things about working with her and would recommend her to anyone looking
