We go past the commercial aspect by combining our expert print quality, technical craft, and creative roots to offer superior options specific to our clients' needs. We take pride in our work, we know our competition, we know we're better than our competition and we have the skills to prove it. We've been hired by our suppliers and ink manufacturers to do extensive R&D to test new ink lines and supplies.
Screen printing is the printing process most commonly used for high-quality apparel printing where ink is forced through a stenciled screen onto the shirt. Each ink color in the final artwork is created using a different screen to achieve the completed artwork reproduction. In creating custom screen printed t-shirts, it's also necessary to heat-cure the inks by sending the printed garment through a professional conveyor-belt dryer.
Offbeat Press is an industry leader in eco-friendly water-based screen printing and a certified Gold Member of Green America. We opened our doors in 2008 as one of the first eco-friendly water-based screen print shops in the Midwest. We have spent countless hours and late nights studying the nuances of water-based printing.
While most print shops always use the same inks, Offbeat Press offers 3 distinct ink options: water-based (+discharge) inks, industry standard plastisol inks and vintage plastisol inks. Each ink has its own advantages and disadvantages. Here's an overview of the 3 ink options, along with a rating system below to help clarify the complexities.

Had a great experience with Offbeat Press. The shirts turned out great. There is one error on shirt size they are working very well with me on. I worked with Drew, he is quick with responses and easy to talk to. He took an extra step to help when I was having trouble getting the correct vector file. I recommend Offbeat Press.

In addition, the customer service is exemplary. The company is also a good friend to the community, helping the homeless in particular. Firstly, I wish I could give these folks more than 5 stars. We've spent thousands of dollars with Offbeat and every single time its been a complete pleasure. Our company is in Delaware, but we have no one but Offbeat do our merchandise. Everything always looks great, whenever I have a question; its answered within the day. They'll even help you find a better more cost effective option. Numerous times I've seen a shirt/sweatshirt material we like, I message them and I get the run down on options. I ordered some shirts for an event I was doing. The shirts were done quickly for me and were awesome. The quality of the work was great, customer service was great.
