I've been a member at First Trust Credit Union for 37 years. Some of the services I've used over the years include Loans, CDs, and a 2nd Mortgage. My favorite thing about being a member at First Trust is the people (employees) and the courtesy they give us. They always take time out for us. We're treated like family!

I mostly use the (mobile) app to check the balances of my accounts. I don't live close to First Trust CU anymore, but the app makes it very easy for me to be able to do mobile banking - like depositing a paper check, transferring balances across my accounts, or quickly checking my credit score! First Trust is pleased to bring you an upgrade to our mobile banking services.
Services
Vision: To be the preferred financial institution through innovation, financial education, and support for our member/owners, our employees and the communities we serve! Credit unions have a shared philosophy. Not for Profit, Not for Charity, but for Service. From the beginning, credit unions sought to keep people economically independent - by helping them learn to save and borrow prudently.
We can now offer you service at thousands of credit union service center locations nationwide, all with the same high level of member service you have come to expect. We can now offer you service at hundreds credit union locations throughout Michigan and Northern Indiana and New York City, all with the same high level of member service you have come to expect.
First Trust Credit Union's Board of Directors is excited to announce that the 2022 scholarship applications are now available. EIGHT $1,000 scholarships will be awarded in 2022, to graduating high school seniors based on the geographic location of their high school. First Trust branches in Michigan City, La Porte, Valparaiso, and Wheatfield will each award two scholarships.
By depositing a minimum of $25 into a Share Savings account you become a member of First Trust Credit Union. Your membership entitles you to use all of the services and benefits offered by the Credit Union. As a secondary option to your regular shared savings account, Rainy Day (Savings) and Spare Change (Savings) are monies set aside for those emergencies you were not expecting.
Our Money Market Plu$ deposits are federally insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). In addition to NCUA coverage, our Excess Share Insurance (ESI) provides up to an additional $250,000 in coverage. You may request withdrawals or transfers in person at any of our full-service office locations, by phone using our toll free number, or with our convenient Online Banking.

Sevice is very rude and abrupt. I have had multiple personal and business accounts over 20 years. No customer service training is very apparent

Worst treatment: Rude and uninterested in keeping a good customer. We are leaving after being insulted and made to feel like our business is not important to them!

So far it has been anything but a pleasant experience banking with them. My direct deposit is late, online banking is down for hours, their app is second class compared to major banks, and their ATM is unavailable at times.
