First, you should know that there is no state or federal threshold for how much indoor mold is too much. Mold Remediation is the removal, cleanup and/or control of mold growth within building structures. We are a local, family owned company serving Indiana. We have performed thousands of mold inspections, tests, and remediation projects since 2001.
Usually, we recommend a visual inspection before you spend the money on mold testing. If visible mold is present, testing is probably a waste of money. A visual inspection is what it sounds like. You, or your inspector, should take a close look around for any sign of damage or potential for water intrusion.
With over 75 years of combined experience in the cleaning, restoration and remediation industry, Indiana Mold Remediation has the experience to identify many problems remotely with the assistance of your smart phone and some simple video conferencing software. On the day of your appointment, we will connect with you over your smart phone or mobile device and walk you through the process.

As of this writing, we are unaware of any local governments in Indiana that have set thresholds. Most government agencies follow the EPA on mold. On mold thresholds, The EPA says, Standards or Threshold Limit Values (TLVs) for airborne concentrations of mold, or mold spores, have not been set.
It is becoming common to discover mold in the attics of homes. Newer homes are built with lumber that is more porous and more susceptible to moisture penetration than older homes. New homes are also sealed up tighter for greater heating and cooling efficiency, leading to a buildup of moisture. In addition, home inspectors, other contractors, and even homeowners are more aware of mold issues.

When we found mold in our master bathroom and closet, we made an appointment with Indiana Mold Remediation and I'm so glad we did. Brian came out the next day and gave me very practical, useful advice. He walked me through the process step-by-step, which was very helpful for a new homeowner. Removed wallpaper and found mold behind it. I called to see if someone could evaluate the situation to make sure that the mold wasn't deeper than the surface. They were able to come out within a few days. Mark was very helpful with telling me how to remediate the mold that was surface only. He gave a lot of tips and tricks to make sure I do it properly and safely with the right products. I would definitely recommend Indiana Mold Remediation for any issues or questions you might have on the topic!

Mark came out and gave us our estimate which honestly I was expecting the worst. I relieved when he gave us the quote to have mold removed from the attic and crawl. We also had a new vapor barrier installed and the old one removed. Mark was very professional and I appreciated his time coming out and explaining the process. The crew that came to do the work were very friendly and helpful. Not going to lie wasn’t a fan of having to be out the house while they worked and for 24 hours afterward but these guys were good and professional. We had a leak under our kitchen sink that needed attention from IMR before we sold our house. Brian did an excellent job on his inspection, educating us as he went. Daniel and Noah, who provided the remediation service, were prompt, efficient, pleasant to work with, quick, and provided photos of their work. While we hope to not need mold work done again, if we need to, we’ll call Indiana Mold Remediation!

This business is based on high integrity and honesty. We appreciate the thorough inspection we received today. Clint took much time to inspect our house, listen well, answer questions, explain various facts about managing mold, offer numerous strategies for cleaning, encourage me that this is manageable rather overwhelming which is what I thought before he arrived at our house. Brian at IMR was great! We were able to schedule a next-day appointment to have a mold inspection for our in-process bathroom remodel. Even though Brian had the wrong address for our house and ended up on the other side of town, he still got here within the arrival window, was very straightforward with his assessment and gave us lots of advice for our project. He was professional, courteous and we would definitely call him again!
