Cheryl Southall Ross grew up in a rural town in Alabama. Upon completion of high school, Mrs. Ross attended Auburn University in Montgomery, Alabama. While finishing her freshman year of college, she visited Boston where she would land an entry level position at IBM. Mrs. Ross worked for IBM for five years before transferring to Atlanta.
