Services
Whether you're looking for a quiet, comfortable place to spend a night, or a convenient home base for your week-long northwest Montana outdoor adventure, the Sandman Motel right here in downtown Libby is the ideal choice for you. We have worked hard to build an outstanding reputation through our commitment to our customers.
We are the Hill family! Yvonne (mum) is from Deer Park, Washington. We started our family in Australia, but quickly decided we wanted to find a new home, ideally a small town nestled in the mountains with a cozy, intimate community feel. After much searching, we discovered the perfect fit. Libby, Montana!
The Sandman Motel is just a 10 minute walk from the center of town and the Libby Amtrak Train Station. 2. Kootenai National Forest, a premier destiation for hiking and wildlife viewing, is a 10-minute drive from the motel. Kootenai Falls, the largest undammed falls in Montana, can be reached from an easy half mile hike from a large parking area directly off Highway 2.
Heading East, continue through Newport, Washington to Bonner Ferry, Idaho. Cross over the Kootenai River and when you get to the 4 way intersection at the top of the hill outside of Bonners Ferry, turn right. Continue on Highway 2 to Troy, Montana and Libby is only 17 miles from there. We are the first motel on the left, look for the only big neon sign in Libby and the jumping kangaroos!
We are proud to showcase what past guests have said about us over the years! All featured testimontials recieved a rating of 5/5 stars on either Booking.com or Trip Advisor:. I stayed at the Sandman for 2 weeks on a job. The owners could not have been more accommodating, friendly, courteous, or welcoming.

We have stayed over labor day weekend again this past weekend with our 🐶. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The beds are new pillows are nice too for a cozy nights rest. Rooms very clean. Went down the street to 4B antlers for a great breakfast. This town has alot of American pride and very inviting. Definitely will stay again not far from Ross giants cedar tree forest, bull lake and the falls.

Impeccably preserved mid-century northwest motor lodge. Clean, quiet, comfortable, with brand new beds. Open space lawn in the back and wild fruit trees surrounding. When Bob Dylan took a job in the great north woods, working as a cook for a spell, it was at the Sandman Motel that he wrote Tangled up in Blue. The place is a living monument to Americana.

The Sandman was such an unexpected delight. We came to town for a funeral and just needed a place to sleep- we weren't expecting such a clean, gracious accommodation. The rooms are spotless, there's such small attention to detail everywhere and the hosts couldn't have been more welcoming. The Sandman made a hard trip much more bearable. You'll love your stay.

This is a review for the Sandman Down Under on Mineral Ave. The people who work here are quite nice and friendly. That is the only positive thing I can say. The room I stayed in stunk like very old cigarette smoke, which tells me that it's in the paint, in the furniture, in everything. It was really disgusting. Of course, it's a no-smoking room. Also, this had a kitchenette but there literally was not one piece of kitchen stuff. Not one plate, not one spoon...nothing. How can you use a kitchen without utensils and pots and pans? Next time I'm in Libby I will definitely stay

This review is for the Sandman Down Under the other location down the road..
My family and I won't be staying there again, we were all quoted $60-69 dollars a night when we each called to make our reservations. Then when we went to check out were charged $80 (he tried charging us more) and that was SUPPPOSEDLY with them giving each of us a $10 off. Mysteriously the owner (Shane?) doesn't know how or why we were all quoted so much cheaper prices then what he was charging us. Basically he made an extra $30 off me, $30 off my sister and $40 off of my dad while trying to make it seem like
