Services
Hugo Schwope founded H.W. Schwope & Sons soon after returning home from WWII. His four sons and he began with a homemade "cable-tool" that operated with a pulley and winch system that "pounded" the drill bit into the ground. This was a very labor intense process. In the early 1970s, he invested in his first two Ingersoll-Rand rotary-rigs.
The first step in drilling a water well is getting an estimate. It's imperative that you provide an accurate well location or elevation so that the well company can provide you with an accurate depth; as all well costs are dependent on the depth. Second, a site visit is strongly recommended so all details can be accounted for prior to the start of the job.

Rainwater storage tanks are a great way to get ahead of the droughts in the drought-prone Hill Country. Rainwater tanks offer many benefits from reduction of sediments, iron, and minerals, to aerating any odors that may come from sulfur in the water. Further, having a 2500 gallon+ storage tank, provides days of water storage for a typical family in the event of a power outage or downhole pump failure.
Well inspections are performed to ensure the well system is operating efficiently. Schwope's trained technicians will do a full visual inspection of the equipment on surface for leaks and potential hazards. We will test all electrical components and do a flow test to determine how many Gallons Per Minute (GPM) the well produces.

Schwope Rocks! We discovered late in the day that our pump wasn't working and we had no water! Too late for them to come out that day, but they assured us they'd make every effort to come out the next morning. And by 9:15am they were here & gone by 10:30 - all fixed! Even one of the guys said he'd drilled our well 12 yrs ago. Would not hesitate to use them again, and highly recommend them!

I went to Schwope after the winter storm with a broken pump to fix. Luckily they had a replacement instead of waiting on repair which I'm still waiting on. They were swamped with many others. They were extremely helpful, friendly and caring; the definition of Old Boerne. I will most definitely use them again.

I called first thing this morning due to my reserve tank not filling. I was immediately assisted and the repair was completed within a few hours. Very affordable and honest with services needed. I had also used them in 2013. Always friendly and professional. Grateful to have them in the community. Will definitely use them for all of my well and pump needs.

Have used Schwope & Sons a few times and highly recommend them. These folks have integrity and don't try to sell me. Our house has a 535' deep well they drilled 16 years ago and it has been a problem free water source for our home. Had a service call after lightning storm and during a drought...first call resolved quickly for $100 and second they taught me how to operate under drought conditions. My go to water company.

Each time I need them it's always under less than ideal circumstances. I must say they always come through for me though. If I need water, I usually get it right away. If it's pump repairs or other system issue they take care of it, and their prices are reasonable. I don't think I can ask for anything more. MRC

Came when they said they would . Had a hard time getting the big truck in the right position because of power lines and a small flat area. But he didn't give up. He got it in with inches from my house and the rock ledge. Pulled out all pipe, found hole in the last pipe. Replaced all pipe to PVC. Did this all in 3 hours. I buy all my well parts with Schwope. Nice friendly men and women. Great value.

Have been using Schope for decades. When we found ourselves with no water at our rural home yesterday evening, we called Schope this morning and their folks arrived ahead of schedule, fixed the issue promptly & professionally, and didn't leave bits and pieces for us to clean up. Arrived at my new home in Boerne, Could not get water supply from the well to the house. I tried everything. Based on a referral I called Schwope. They were there within two hours. Walked me through my system and found a bad breaker. System works great now. The two guys that showed up were knowledgeable, friendly and new the water system well, no pun intended.

2 weeks without water. I don't know what else to do... I spoke with John and Jim Schwope and they said they would get back with me.. They never once called back even after a dozen calls for help with the well. Called again today 2 weeks later and was basically told that Schwope was too busy to help us. All my neighbors and fellow workers swear that Schwope and sons were the place to get help. I tried to call to get a tank installed which my neighbors will fill for us. But Schwope didn't call back or provide any direction to help my family. I know this isn't the norm based on
