Patients are frequently referred to him by physicians within the area and podiatrists come to him for advice and assistance in difficult cases.
Dr. Anna Gurrera is Board Certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. She is highly trained in all aspects of surgical and non-surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. She is originally from Glenview, Illinois and is proud to be serving her community in the Northwest suburbs.
Did you know that the human foot is actually quite complex? It's a structure with 26 bones, 33 joints, and more than 100 ligaments and muscles-all of these parts work together to achieve a unique combination of stability and flexibility. Because we use our feet daily, it's inevitable that problems may arise in any of these bones, joints, and/or ligaments.
A bunion is a progressive foot deformity that results from mechanical imbalance and undue stress on the big toe joint. This leads to a bony prominence on the inside or top of the toe joint and drifting of the big toe, causing crowding to the smaller toes. Bunions themselves develop slowly and the amount of pain that they cause will gradually increase.

Read all of the great reviews on Dr. Gurerra and decided to schedule an appointment. The staff was very friendly and professional and Dr. Gurerra was fantastic! She was really personable, patient with me and listened to what my concerns were. She made sure I was comfortable during the procedure and it was over quickly, with very little discomfort. I can’t say enough about her…she’s amazing!

Dr Gurrera, at Alpine Foot Specialists, is the best Podiatrist in the Lake Zurich and surrounding community. She is professional, compassionate, detail oriented, has excellent surgical outcomes and is genuinely an amazing person. I am a Physical Therapist with 19 years of experience, and I can transparently say that Dr. Gurerra was my absolute first choice when my son (then 6 years old) fractured 4 of his toes, and 3 through the growth plate) needed foot surgery. I put this visit off way too long, and my feet were in severe pain. I was able to make a Saturday appointment, and when the doctor diagnosed my problem she offered to do the minor procedure right then as long as I had enough time available to heal afterward.
Being a cancer survivor, I appreciate a quick process. So many times it's " hurry up and wait". Here it's " hurry up and heal".

Absolutely a wonderful experience
I had a problem with one of my toes for months I went to a different podiatrist and he kept sending me to get X-rays mr is ultra sound etc.
Doctor Gurrera took one look and she said is a small cyst I can remove it in a minutes.
I am so pleased and grateful for her professionalism I refer my husband and like me we are super happy with her services.
