ArtisTree
In the heart of Hutchinson, KS, serving Reno, Rice, Harvey and McPherson County, the Kansas ArtisTree continues to grow. Spacious studios and professional teachers offer technical instruction in classical ballet, pointe, creative movement, rhythm tap, theatre jazz and modern dance. Dance classes and theatre training support each branch of ArtisTree.

Each dance lesson and theatre experience emphasizes correct technique and individual attention for ages 3 through adult. ArtisTree grew from Andrews Dance School, Studio 3100 and Toddler Tree Preschool.

ArtisTree is an idea whose seed was planted more than 80 years ago outside New York City. The entire story of ArtisTree was celebrated in our 25th Jubilee annual production, SilverTree at the Fox Theatre in 2004. From the youngest child through adults, every student receives quality instruction from qualified instructors emphasizing proper technique and the development of individual talents.
Learning to dance builds the characteristics that nurture achievement in all endeavors; characteristics like discipline, hardwork, confidence, and refinement. The Dance Branch of ArtisTree is dedicated to developing young children, and young at heart dancers of all ages, as well as increasing the awareness and appreciation of dance in the community.
Having taught for over 40 years, I've had the privilege of working with many generations of budding artists and dancers. In countless conversations with parents over the years, two words are used over and over: courage and patience. It takes both to be a parent, especially in guiding your child through a successful training in the arts, and life!
Children ages 2 through 5 can join our Budding Artists programs as a member of Tots, Sprouts, Seedlings, or Music & Movement. Our Budding Artist branch introduces the preschooler, in a nourishing climate, to the arts. Music, movement, and visual arts are the focus. Formal dance instruction for ages younger than 6 years old does more to damage and stress the young body and mind than to develop their abilities.
Arts education for public, private and home based schools in Reno county and south central Kansas. Today, children are learning in and through the arts in exciting ways-creating, interpreting, analyzing and understanding. ArtisTree believes strongly that the arts are not a frill, but essential to core curriculum and a crucial ingredient to the learning process.
