Chicone is a family-owned and operated business that has been serving New York, the Northeast, and the Mid-Atlantic for over 60 years. Our shop is nestled in the heart of the Finger Lakes region in upstate New York-an area that teems with native hardwoods. It is no wonder that the natural beauty of the landscape has inspired three generations of Chicone craftsmen.
The Chicone family has been serving the Finger Lakes and the Southern Tier, NY as general contractors and finish carpenters for over 60 years. After returning home from World War II Salvatore Chicone, the son of Italian immigrants, went to work with his brother as a carpenter. In 1953 he and his brother opened Chicone Brothers.

We turn all of our decorative bowls and platters by hand; this allows us to follow the wood's natural beauty and discover a unique form in each piece. Guaranteeing that no two pieces are exactly the same. Figured hardwoods draw out the splendor of the finish applied to each one of a kind creation. Tigered, burled, birds eyes or spalted wood provide a depth of character.

This is the 3rd or 4th time we've used Chicone Builders for major projects. The house was a custom "kit" house built in 1984, and has not had much love before we bought it in 2003. Chicone came in 2010 to put in custom split-maple cabinets with bamboo shelving to make a beautiful Library downstairs. They updated, flooring, put in an AC system, on-demand water heater, roof repair, shingles, and I can't remember what else. They also came when mice ate through the rolled radiant heat on the 2nd floor and the ceiling collapsed; they came quickly and the entire job was done in a few days. Last October

Chicone Builders has done incredible work on the Montour Falls Library over the last 8 months. The historic building (1864) was in great need of maintenance and repair. Chicone Builders weather-proofed windows and doors, restructured the accessible ramp at the back, remodeled and insulated our back room, and rearranged/rehabilitated all entrances. The entrances are stunning. The project was completed in a timely manner and the team was a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend!

Bookcases were going to be a big part of our new home renovation. We have been collecting large and very heavy artbooks for years. We had some clear ideas about what we wanted - simple, but beautifully finished built-ins for 3 rooms - 8 different cases total. Vincent Chicone and his crew understood exactly what we wanted while at the same time made a number of practical suggestions for both best price and best design to make sure we would be happy. Suggestions included making room trim and molding for the 3 rooms that integrated with the shelves to give our house a unified feeling. They came onsite
