Refurbishing is a step up from a repair. With a repair we only work in the local area of the repair and keep it as small as possible to make the repair. My idea of restoring something is to take it back to the day when it was new. In some cases that is possible and in some it is not, therefore we get as close as possible.
We also build many new things; cabinets, cabinet doors, wainscot paneling, lamps, boxes, candle holders to name just a few. Recently a gentleman called and asked if I could re-purpose an old TV entertainment center that he no longer had a use for and make it into something like a HI Boy. I went out and looked at it and after some discussions, we came up with an agreed upon plan.

Please allow me to take a moment of your time to introduce myself and to tell you a little bit about me. I was taken under the wing of two family members (both master craftsmen) and was taught the skills of cabinet making. After just a few years I had learned my craft well enough to go to work for other local cabinet shops.
Bob Blanck has worked in the construction and woodworking industries for over 50 years. He began his career learning the art of cabinet making with master craftsmen, acquiring skills that evolved into a full-time career. He started his own business called Majestic Cabinet Co. in 1973, where he specialized in custom cabinetry and architectural millwork.
The following pictures are just a few samples. As I find more or take more I will post them here. I have foolishly not taken a lot of before and after photos; I know I should have. If you check out the Photo Gallery area, you will see lots of photos that I have built, repaired, refurbished or repurposed.
The photos below are pictures of some of the projects I worked on while working for another company. Yes, that is the Titanic, we built a traveling museum for the titanic. Some of the pictures are of the grand staircase, entrance to the first class dining, inside first class dining and some of the display cases for the artifacts.
A repair can be as minimal as tape, glue or nail it together or fill the ding with putty and put some color on it or use a felt tip pen to color that scratch and call it good. Or, one can use any and all tools, material and talent necessary for a near perfect repair. Of course, the first option is going to be the least expensive, you can do that yourself.
