Hypnosis is just a way to relax your body and your conscious mind, so that you can gain access to your subconscious. You go into a nice, relaxed state known as a trance state. A trance is actually a very natural state of mind, that we go in and out of everyday, and every night as we fall asleep. Examples include any kind of relaxation, meditation, or even daydreaming.

So you don't lose awareness totally of your surroundings, like you do when you're sleeping. You're just more quieted down and focused. And when you're in that relaxed, trance state, the subconscious is more open and accessible. So it will very readily accept post-hypnotic suggestions, which are just positive suggestions in the areas we're working on together.

In hypnosis, your conscious mind is quieted down, much like turning down static or interference on a radio. So the post-hypnotic suggestions go into the subconscious without the usual interference from the conscious mind. And--the subconscious believes these suggestions and begins to manifest them and make them happen in your day-to-day life!
I believe the source of all health and well-being is within each of us. But sometimes we allow things such as life circumstances, negative influences, or a poor self-image to block our connection with that positive power inside us. Get rid of those blocks to growth and there is a quantum leap forward: deeper self-acceptance, confidence, greater energy, happiness, and joy.

I saw Arlene Thompson for weight loss hypnotherapy in May of 2016. It was an overall wonderful and fulfilling experience. She helped me lose quite a bit of weight initially and I have gone on to lose an additional 9 lbs over my initial weight loss goal. She is kind, compassionate and a wonderful listener. I saw Arlene a couple years back for hypnotherapy, and my experience with her was amazing! She is a very kind and empathetic person, and I felt very heard and understood by her. We did inner child work as well as hypnosis for a variety of issues, and I can honestly say that it changed my life. Highly recommend her!

I went to Arlene for anxiety issues due to work/life stress. This was about 12 years ago and after only a handful of visits I have had no further panic attacks/anxiety. I am a nurse in a high stress environment. She is truly amazing, so much so, I have referred many patients. 1 in 3 people will experience anxiety and or panic attacks in their lifetime. Arlene is so much better than a bunch of anxiety meds that just cause more panic attacks/anxiety later. Please give her a try, you won’t be disappointed.
