Miller Student Loan Consulting, LLC is Jan Miller's independent consulting company - and it began June of 2000. Jan started his consulting work as a part-time hobby, by helping his family and friends with their student debt woes. Jan's approach to repayment planning goes far above & beyond anything else you'll find in the student loan industry. When Jan crafts your Student Loan Business Plan, it's the BEST possible path you can take to pay back all your student loan debt. Because it has such a thorough strategy that covers every corner, Jan calls it "holistic repayment planning."
During your consultation, we'll make sure you get really clear on your student loan debt (types of loans, balances, interest rates, etc.) and what your needs are (lower payments, other financial obligations, best case scenario, etc.) From there, we'll determine whether my services would be helpful for you in meeting your goals.
Student loan consolidation is being pushed by debt relief agencies and many student loan lenders as a quick, one-size-fits-all solution to everyone's student loan worries. While consolidation is a great option, due to its ability to combine all your payments into one, it's not the only option you have for repayment assistance.
No debt relief agency is truly recommendable, in my opinion. These agencies all offer the same services, as though they were "unique" programs that could only be obtained through their agency. In truth, any company that wants to charge you to consolidate your loan, or enroll in repayment assistance programs like IBR or Public Student Loan Forgiveness, is not recommendable, or ethical, in my opinion.

It’s a rare treat to find people who love what they do and genuinely want to help. Jan is just this sort of person plus he REALLY knows his stuff.
I was really panicking about my student loan debt and by the time I got off my first call with Jan I felt confident that he would help me find a plan that would get me on a manageable track. Jan Miller was amazing!!! He was very easy to work with and had a great deal of knowledge. If you have student loans you most definitely need to have a consultation with Jan. He has a plethora of knowledge and given how complex student loan plans are (e.g. IBR, REPAYE, PAYE) having someone as knowledgeable and caring as Jan is a must. He provided me with so much insight in a short and surprisingly affordable phone call. He didn't pitch any products or try to take me in circles. I get so sick of consultants who use their "free consultation" to provide vague information so that you have to hire them. What's free about that? And then, once you hire them and are charging by the hour, they spend the first hour telling you about what they do, how they do it, where they research, what they can do for you, blah blah blah, without ever once speaking to your situation. I'm in this for professional advice, not your life story and not to just learn, after I've paid, how I could have done this myself

Mr. Miller was kind, professional and helpful during our phone conversation. Despite establishing up front that I would not derive any additional benefit by purchasing his services, he still spoke with me at length regarding various options of my repayment plan, and offered several parting tips. I never felt any pressure to purchase anything, and appreciated the time he provided free of charge.

Very grateful I've come across Jan's practice. For years I felt unsure as to how to approach my student debt and Jan has quickly helped me to gather a plan and feel much better about my situation. I’d highly recommend Jan to anyone with student loan debt, regardless of your situation. I’ve come to realize that it’s impossible for an average person to fully understand the ever-changing ins and outs of federal student loan policy. I am currently studying graduate level finance but student loans are so unique and complex that I would have overlooked several money-saving opportunities without Jan’s help.
