The original business was started and managed by William H. Smith, and primarily focused on roofing, spouting, sheet metal work, steam baths, and wood and coal furnaces. In 1946, William H. Smith's son, Raymond N. Smith, became the owner of the business, following World War II, changing of the business to R.N. Smith Sheet Metal Shop.
The business continued to prosper with the addition of heating and air conditioning installation and repair services. In 1969, Patrick R. Smith started working with his father installing heating and air conditioning systems. The corporation has 30 dedicated employees and serves over 10,000 customer's in the city of Lancaster and the surrounding areas.

Average air conditioners last 10-15 years. If you are experiencing issues with your unit that is close to this age, we can help assess the state of your current system and provide you with the most effective options to get you back to comfort. Repair and maintenance of existing systems to ensure they continue running as efficiently and for as long as possible.
Healthy, clean air can improve your health which is why it is important to understand your options in making the air you breathe as clean as possible. Indoor air quality is also affected by how dry or moist the air is in your home. If the air is too moist, it can cause mold and mildew and lead to respiratory issues.
Replacing your home heating and cooling system is a major decision; one that shouldn't rely on cost alone. Sometimes a repair can be more costly and potentially problematic than replacing the system altogether. Maximum efficiency and reliability depend on using a complete matched system. That means replacing the indoor coil and furnace, or heat pump, as well as the outdoor air conditioner.
Josh went to my house and explain everything in detail about my electric furnace after fixing the issue. Excellent service. I recommend this company to anybody. You can not find a better HVAC contractor in Ohio. We have worked with these guys through a complete remodel of a 9000 SF commercial building and now a pole barn.

Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness
They were very professional and communication/scheduling was very thorough. I was called with timing updates due to a slight delay in their arrival so I wasn't sitting around waiting and wondering which is so appreciated! The men were polite and my new furnace is great! I would definitely recommend!

My air went out this past weekend with over 90 degree heat. I had to wait until Tuesday morning to call due to holiday weekend. The girl said she could not get a serviceman to my house until between 11a-4pm. that day and want to know if it was okay.. I said SURE! I was expecting at least a couple days wait. Tech came out and found out all I had was a burnt wire and the bill was very cheap. I thought for sure I was looking at a new compressor. THANK YOU for getting out so quick and getting my problem resolved!

Furnace quit putting out heat on a Saturday when the temperature was -5 degrees and the roads were trash from a recent heavy snow. Go figure right.
Called numerous HVAC companies who advertised 24/7 access and only 2 places even answered. The first place told me the roads were too bad to respond. RN Smith promptly called back after my voicemail and responded at 4pm on a Saturday.
The gentleman who responded diagnosed the problem, got my furnace running which saved the weekend, and since it was a Saturday couldn't order the part until Monday, so showed me what to do to get the heat back
