The federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, 18 U.S.C. §§ 1961-1968, is a complex and confusing statute originally targeted at organized crime but used for many other purposes today. It not only provides severe criminal penalties but also authorizes private plaintiffs to sue defendants for treble damages.
At David B. Smith, PLLC, we welcome inquiries from both individuals needing legal representation and lawyers and law firms seeking assistance with matters within our core practice areas of criminal defense, civil and criminal asset forfeiture, restitution, and victims' rights. David Smith is the worst lawyer in town. Spoke to him a few times and he told me he doesn't care about my case enough because other cases were paying him more. He doesn't know how to close a case and tells me to look up the lawbook... Terrible lawyer for the fact that he never answers any of your questions on time, is lazy, and clearly in it for the money. BTW I paid him $675/hour. Stay away my friends.

Mr. Smith was alright. Not worth his price tag due to lack of communication and technique. In court his policy is to not fight the prosecutors because he relies on plea deals. He told me that he doesn't fight but tries to negotiate instead. If you need a fighter and someone who believes and will do the best for you as a client, try some of the other lawyers in the area. Many others offer better procedures and a better price tag.

I needed to assemble the best team of legal representation I could within a very limited budget. Early in the fight, the government realized I had been able to acquire good legal assistance so they filed a “Civil Forfeiture Action” to eliminate my ability to fight. Realizing my legal team had little expertise in that area of law, I began searching the internet
