Camp Buckeye retreat center is an inter-denominational non-profit camp near Beach City, Ohio. Camp Buckeye offers 92 beautiful wooded acres complete with hiking trails, pond, swimming pool, chapel, playground, winterized lodge and cabins, and picnic pavilions. In 1984, a group of people created a non-profit organization called Grass Roots Ministries, Inc., and purchased Camp Buckeye.
We rent out our facilities for retreats, family reunions, church camps, and other special events. We have trails for hiking, a sand volleyball court, a mini-golf course, large playing field, junior Olympic size swimming pool, and pond for fishing. We offer Nature Discovery sessions for local students to do hands-on learning about the natural world.

Services
The Agape Lodge, originally built in 1954, is the beautiful and rustic multi-purpose central facility of the camp. With a stone fireplace as its heart, faux-stone floor, comfortable furniture and welcoming atmosphere, it is the ideal place for civic and corporate gatherings as well as family and youth events.
The charming Charity cabin is always a favorite, tucked in close to the tree line and sleeping 12 in bunks. Hope and Faith are built end to end, though with separate entrances. Hope sleeps 16, Faith sleeps 18 in bunk beds and are an excellent choice for families who wish to camp together. Our largest cabin, sleeping 20 in bunk beds, and with two entrances, Hospitality is a perennial favorite, with lots of room to spread out.
Friendship Center is a meeting area with basic food preparation facilities (but no running water). It contains couches, a table and chairs, countertop space, stove, microwave, and a refrigerator. It provides an ideal place for small groups to gather. Friendship is bookended by Hospitality Cabin and Joy Cabin, which are connected to the central room.
Nestled in the woods, this shelter built in 2004 provides a unique gathering area for those camping on the lower level. Picnic tables can seat approximately 50, and make it an ideal area for meals, nature & craft projects, or Scout merit badge activities. Located near the lodge and camp office, Founders' Pavilion is a large and spacious area for groups of all sizes, with a seating capacity of up to 150 in this 40' x 80' space.
Tucked into the woods is an adult personal retreat cabin awaiting your arrival. This cabin sleeps 6 maximum, with an Amish made queen size oak bed in the first floor bedroom, a loft with 2 twin beds, and a sofa bed in the living area. For spiritual retreat and renewal, we encourage pastors to "come apart and rest" by using Serenity Cabin.

Camp Buckeye is a wonderful camp. My daughter, age 9, loved everything about it. She was there for 5 days and 5 nights, and her whole stay was packed with fun, appropriate activities. She said the food was very good and they had Amish cooks! :) The counselors are wonderful as well. My daughter made many new friends; she came home happy, and very tired!
