Dr. Melander is an Orthopedic Surgeon who chose to focus on sports injuries because he is an athlete and appreciates the drive and commitment it takes to remain active. He spent an extra year after his residency to focus on providing quality orthopedic care to athletes - everyone from professional athletes (like players for the Indianapolis Colts) to high school athletes and weekend warriors within the St. Louis and St. Charles area.
Heather is a national board certified and Missouri state licensed Athletic Trainer. She graduated from Saint Louis University with her bachelor's degree in Exercise Science in 2013 and her master's degree in Athletic Training in 2014. In her free time she enjoys coaching competitive cheerleading and training to compete in fitness competitions.

Dr. Melander has been my Orthopedic Surgeon since 2010. Due to my Osteoarthritis I have had several joint replacements. I have so much confidence and trust in Dr. Melander! He has always made me feel like he cares about my recovery AND he listens to me! He’s not just in and out of the room! His video says he may just spend five minutes with you, but he wants you to feel like he just spent 5 hours with you! Believe me, after 10 yrs. of surgeries and recoveries, I couldn’t have said it any better. He’s the BEST!

Dr. Melander was a referred to me. Upon my first visit I experienced nothing but professional treatment showing empathy, sense of humor with very clean facility. Staff very patient and make you feel comfortable which is a plus. Beyond professional Dr Melander is well kept and groomed he care about his appearance which show he care about his staff and patients. I will definitely recommend him.

What a negative atmosphere in this office, from the Dr diem to the staff. No comprehensive exam. Fit me with a boot that was too large. Thought that at 71 I should be able to get around with crutches or a walker with a broken ankle. I would never go back to this office. Found another Dr that actually did a comprehensive exam of my foot, ankle & leg, fit me with a boot that actually fits. Acted like a real caring compassionate Dr. Dr Melander & staff could take a lesson!!

Dr Melander did a fantastic job on my knee. I tore my medial and lateral meniscus and thought running and sports were over. His excellent surgery as well as diligent coaching on rehabilitation has enabled me to play tennis at a very competitive level at 48. We trust our entire family to him and appreciate his skill and expertise.
